Pence makes sense as VP

Okay, I’m going with Indiana Governor Mike Pence as Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick. He’s a conservative with U.S. House of Representatives experience.

While Newt Gingrich would be an excellent choice, I believe his age makes him less attractive for that position. Looking ahead, he would be too old to run for the presidency.

I think Gingrich, with his Washington experience, would make an excellent chief of staff for Trump.

Down the road, if other high-profile individuals would be willing to serve in cabinet roles, I could see Trump asking Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn to be his defense secretary, Chris Christie his attorney general and Ben Carson his Health and Human Services secretary.

As you mull over these picks, remember that I picked Ohio Governor John Kasich as my choice for president.
