Fitton and Bossie; the new Woodward and Bernstein

Tom Fitton and David Bossie aren’t readily recognized household names, but you can thank them for doing what Woodward and Bernstein, of All the President’s Men book on Watergate, have abdicated.

Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein are proof that true journalism is dead in America. Bernstein wrote a fawning book on Hillary Clinton, while Woodward put together a task force of 20 Washington Post people to dig up dirt on Donald Trump, while they will merely be getting the “essence” of Clinton. Once watch dogs, they are now lap dogs.

Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch (wnd.com)

Fitton is president of Judicial Watch, a conservative watch dog organization with the motto – Because no one is above the law. He has successfully used the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits against the State Department to gain access to e-mails and the right to depose staffers close to Clinton, including Cheryl Mills.

There is no reason to believe that the State Department ever would have disclosed that its search for records and documents was compromised had Judicial Watch not asked for search affidavits.

Judicial Watch is also actively pursuing investigations into Fast & Furious, the gun-running program, fraud in the EPA, transgressions in the TSA and Clinton’s e-mails involving the Benghazi attack. They have launched some 3,000 FOIAs against agencies of the Obama administration doing what the liberal media, Congress and the Department of Justice should be doing.

David Bossie of Citizens United (politico.com)

Bossie and his staff at Citizens United have also filed successful FOIA lawsuits to gain access to Clinton e-mails regarding her State Department connections with the Clinton Foundation. Citizens United is an advocacy group desiring to restore citizen control of the government.

Clinton has said that if elected she would pursue passage of a Constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision, which opened the door to outside groups that provide money in support of political issues.

The Media Research Center reports that while the liberal media – ABC, CBS, NBC/MSNBC and CNN – have given short shrift to the work of Judicial Watch and Citizens United, Clinton’s e-mail content has not escaped exposure.

Meanwhile, the liberal press continues to put its journalistic ethics on display for all to see:

“I don’t think anyone feels that there was intent on her (Clinton’s) part to distribute classified information in a way that was illegal or jeopardized security.” – Carl Bernstein

(Trump) is one of the least qualified candidates ever to make a serious run for the presidency. If he is nominated by a major party – let alone elected – the reputation of the United States would suffer a devastating blow around the world.” – Cokie Roberts, NPR commentator and syndicated columnist
