GOP candidates need to put country first

In a recent post yesterday, I criticized Republican House and Senate candidates for distancing themselves from the Donald Trump campaign, characterizing them as whiners and quitters.

If you failed to realize the seriousness of their decision, a closer examination of their decision is in order.

By turning their backs on their nominee, they are helping to assure Hillary Clinton the presidency. In effect, they are saying they will fight and try to obstruct her in office as they did with Barack Obama. Are you ready for that?

Doesn’t it make more sense to fight her now and help to defeat her so she never darkens the Oval Office, by supporting their nominee in an effort to win the presidency?

The answer, of course, is “yes.” Frankly, they are putting the protection of their seats in the House and Senate above the future of their country. I hope they reconsider their selfish, unpatriotic position.

Hillary’s failures and corruption over the past 30 years affected us all, while Trump’s private decades-old indiscretions, while disgusting, were just that.
