Sabotaging MAGA, Part Two

Commentary

In yesterday’s edition, I called your attention to bad actors who are working to sabotage President Trump’s effort to make America great again, providing you with a list of possible sources.

Since then, an FBI investigation of the leak of a classified document bearing a preliminary “low confidence” damage assessment of our strike on Iran to CNN is an example of the work of an anti-Trumper.

CNN represents one of the anti-Trump sources in my list – the leftist media – and is always ready to provide negative coverage and embarrass the president at the drop of a dime.

Though not always considered to be treason, punishment for leaking classified information in the U.S. can include 10 years in prison and fines up to $250,000

We are told that the leak had to come from a relatively small group, reportedly someone with access to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), not to be confused with the Director of National Intelligence (DNI).

I hope they determine who the SOB is, arrest him (her) and make an example of him (her).

Regular readers may recall that I once wrote that the U.S. intelligence community consists of 18 organizations, such as the five groups in each of the five military services within the Defense Department and the Central Intelligence Agency.  Tulsi Gabbard, who heads the DNI, performs as the lead in the intelligence community.

You may not have heard

It has been my practice to share with you commentary – positive and negative – by the media that you may not have heard.

Mark Halperin, who has had a mixed career as a political commentator for ABC, NBC and MSNBC, I believe, has recently fairly represented the Trump administration broadcasting on independent platforms.

Yesterday, he took Delaware’s Democrat Sen. Chris Coons to the cleaners.  Coons is a long a watercarrier for Joe Biden, and denier of Biden’s failing presidency.  Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Halperin was critical of Coons’ earlier appearance during which he couldn’t bring himself to praise Trump for the success in the Iran strike.

Instead, Coons said Trump didn’t follow the letter of the law and didn’t come to Congress for permission.

“If you want to raise objections to the process, if you want to worry about what happens next, by all means, and if you’ve got a principled objection, raise it,”  noted Halperin, “but his lack of credit to the president is striking to me.”

While Joe Scarbough himself seemed hesitant to give Trump credit, “not championing either side on this,” he offered that “The president had no good options, what would Monday look like if he hadn’t moved?”

Asking, “how difficult would it have been for any president to not take that shot,” Scarborough said, “I find it hard to believe that Bush 41, Bush 43, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, you know wouldn’t have felt compelled to take that strike.”  Really?

Of course, Joy Behar on The View, was giddy over the prosect of the lack of significant damage in the Iran strike, referring to the leaked document.

While stating, “I personally would like it to have been successful,” she wondered if Trump was spinning the success of the strikes before an accurate assessment of the damage could be made.

She seems to have forgotten that we are now in a 24/7 news cycle.

Karl Rove, an advisor to President George W. Bush, who runs hot and cold on Trump, writing in the Wall Street Journal, said, “Mr. Trump acted in accordance with what most Americans believe – that our great nation must be strong, dependable and engaged abroad if we’re to have peace and prosperity.  Most Americans believe peace comes through strength and its judicious use.  The World – including opponents of the West – saw that early Sunday morning.

May God continue to bless the United States as we enter the Golden Age
