Enough seriousness for the week.
All of us, at one time or another, have disliked a photo taken of us. That includes President Trump, who disliked the cover photo selected for the recent TIME magazine.
“Time Magazine wrote a relatively good story about me, but the picture may be the Worst of All Time,” he said. “They ‘disappeared’ my hair and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one.”
This from the man who allowed his jail mug shot to be framed and hung in the entry hall to the Oval Office. Go figure.
Hardly anybody reads TIME anymore. Guys who pay attention to who’s reading what recently referred to its demographics as “distressing.”
“I don’t get it,” commented Fox’s Joe Concha, pointing out that there are a thousand photos you could take of the president, and TIME selects that one for which he will be remembered for his achievement of peace in Gaza.
Looking at the cover of Eric Trump’s book, “Under Siege,” the president is shown from behind with a full head of hair.
When Scott Jennings was considering what photo to use on the cover of his book, A Revolution of Common Sense: How Donald Trmp Stormed Washington and Fought for Western Civilization, to be released next month, he revealed he let the president choose the photo. It shows him walking out of the White House with two saluting Marines.
In October 2017, it was announced that artist Kehinde Wiley had been chosen by Obama to paint an official portrait to appear in Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery “America’s Presidents” exhibition.
The unusual presidential painting depicts Obama sitting in a chair seemingly floating among foliage. Different flowers in the piece all have special meaning to Obama.
The Jerusalem Post, one of many publications featuring a photo of the president after the ceasefire and release of hostages, chose a serious looking Trump.
Albert Einstein is credited with saying, “one picture is worth a thousand words.” That may be, but it took Trump just four words – “they disappeared my hair” – to express his dislike of the TIME cover.
May God continue to bless the United States of America
