Putting it mildly … Comey has no credibility

I thought it was time to share a few excerpts from Comey testimony and book tour interviews.

“Did you (Mr. Comey) tell lawmakers that FBI agents didn’t believe former national security advisor Michael Flynn was lying intentionally to investigators?” – Bret Baier, Fox Special Report, April 26, 2018

“No, I didn’t believe that and didn’t say that.” – Former FBI Director Jim Comey

“Not true. And I don’t know what people heard me say, if they are reporting it accurately, what they heard me say, they misunderstood. But that’s not accurate.” – Former FBI Director Jim Comey, responding to a similar question from NBC’s Chuck Todd.

“Director Comey testified to the (House Intelligence) Committee that ‘the agents’ … discerned no physical indication of deception. They didn’t see any change in posture, in tone, in inflection, in eye contact. They saw nothing that indicated to them that he knew he was lying to them.” – Former FBI Director Jim Comey, from pages 53-54 of the committee transcript.

The two people who interviewed (Flynn) didn’t think he was lying, (which) was not (a) great beginning of a false statement case.” – Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, testifying before the House Intelligence Committee.

It has been revealed that McCabe altered agent Peter Strzok’s interview notes to make them appear that Flynn lied.

You are probably aware that Flynn pled guilty of lying in a plea deal. Perhaps you, too, wondered what he was thinking. Certainly, as an intelligence officer he knew his discussions with the Russian ambassador would have been surveilled.

“The facts on the public record to date don’t reflect well on Mr. Mueller’s prosecutorial tactics toward Mr. Flynn,” says The Wall Street Journal. Putting it mildly, the Journal opines that “the House report also reflects poorly on Mr. Comey’s credibility. Despite the transcript of his testimony, Mr. Comey at least three times on his book tour has denied telling Congress that the FBI agents did not think Mr. Flynn was lying.”

Special Counsel Robert Mueller obviously advised Flynn to plead guilty with the intention of using it with his investigation of President Trump. With the surfacing of information concerning those FBI interviews of Flynn, I expect that in the end Flynn will be cleared of any wrong-doing.
