The thousands of attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Friday heard two excellent speeches from two Texans, Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. Rick Perry.
“Get out of the health care business. Get out of the education business. Create prosperity again. My fellow conservatives, the future of this nation is upon you; it belongs to you. You have the power to change America,” said Perry to thunderous applause.
When Senator Cruz took to the stage he addressed the importance of standing up for conservative principles and reminded attendees of past Republican candidates who were more interested in reaching across the aisle. “All of us remember President Dole and President McCain and President Romney. Now, look, these are all good men. They’re decent men. But when you don’t stand and draw a clear distinction, when you don’t stand for principle, Democrat’s celebrate,” he said.
But these are but a few lines in two well-delivered speeches. I highly recommend you take the time to listen to their entire speeches here. (Click for Cruz) (Click for Perry)
