Tom Brokaw shows his liberal colors again.

“The question is, what are they prepared to give to the Democrats to meet them in the middle ground? What are they going to do about immigration?  What are they going to do about the minimum wage?

Those were questions asked by former NBC News majordomo Tom Brokaw, appearing on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports, hosted on Monday by Peter Alexander. However, Brokaw never wondered what Democrats were prepared to give to Republicans.

Obviously foreseeing a Republican victory the following day, Brokaw launched a preemptive tirade against potential GOP presidential candidates currently serving in the Senate for not getting things done in the next two years.

Can you believe it? What are we prepared to give Democrats?  And Brokaw isn’t the only liberal media person telling the GOP what they “must” do now that they have the majority.

Political wonks like me recall the 2008 Tom Brokaw – Charlie Rose love fest on then candidate Obama on our network, PBS. “I don’t know what Barack Obama’s worldview is,” said Rose.  “No, I don’t know either,” responded Brokaw.

“We don’t know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy,” continued Brokaw. “I don’t really know,” said Rose. “And do we know anything about the people who are advising him.”

“He is principally known through his autobiography and through very aspirational speeches,” Rose adds.

This discussion took place just days before the 2008 presidential election. Two of the best known television commentators casually discovering they really don’t know much about Obama.  But by this time the media knew Sarah Palin’s bra size.

By now, the GOP leadership is aware that the media will continue to push for  Republicans to play nice with the president. Let’s hope that Sen. McConnell and Speaker Boehner play hardball.
