Four reporters praise comedienne … a sculpture of Trump in ice … California’s slow train … and Dems want to silence Kanye

Here are my observations and opinions on some of the news of the day.

NO SURPRISE – Four obscure reporters from the left-leaning New York Times, USA Today, CNN and Variety praised comedienne Michelle Wolf’s foul-mouthed performance at Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

MELTING ICE is the name of a Finnish group raising $500,000 to fund the carving of a 115-foot sculpture of President Trump’s face in an arctic iceberg. “We want to build this monument for all of us, so we can see how long the sculpture lasts before melting,” said Nicholas Prieto, the group’s chairman, “Often people only believe something when they see it with their own eyes,”

HAVE THE FINN’S FORGOTTEN that Al Gore, in 2008, told a German audience that “the entire North ‘polarized’ cap will disappear in five years (2013)? Five additional years have passed.

CALIFORNIA’S HI-SPEED TRAIN hasn’t been renamed yet, but that ride between San Francisco and Los Angeles, predicted to take two-hours-and-forty-minutes, has slipped to three hours and thirty minutes, and up to five hours on some runs.

The cost has ballooned from the original cost estimate of $32 billion to a likely $77 billion.

THE LIBERAL WAY – Democrats are quick to say Republicans don’t listen to people of color, but have you noticed how quick the Dems have turned on Kanye West after he praised the conservative writer Candace Owens, and tweeted support of President Trump? Almost as fast as West’s former friend John Legend.

Democrats want the opinions of minorities respected until the point when it contradicts their position.

FOR EXAMPLERep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said, “Sometimes Kanye West talks out of turn … he needs some assistance in helping him formulate some of his thoughts. We’re not sure, but he really understands the impact of what he’s saying, at the time he’s saying it, and how that weighs on, particularly the (black) community, and for young people in general. I think maybe he should think twice about politics, and maybe not have so much to say.”

Can you imagine what West said when he heard that advice …. from someone like Waters … someone sorely in need of intellect.

“In all fairness, Kanye West gets it,“ Trump told a rally audience in Washington Township, Michigan on Saturday, “he gets it, he gets it.”
