An ex-CIA official worries … Klobuchar cites McCain friendship in Trump attack … Buttigieg calls Trump a racist … Sanders, Warren slam corporations … ‘bloodbath’ at CNN … and religious conservative women happier

Here are my observations and opinions on my selected news of the day.

ANOTHER FORMER CIA OFFICIAL seems to fear Attorney General Bill Barr’s investigation of the top-level conspiracy to prevent Donald Trump from getting elected and/or question his legitimacy after being elected.

Following on the heels of former CIA director John Brennan, Jeremy Bash, who served as a chief of staff at the CIA under President Obama, considers President Trump’s move “a very significant delegation of power to an attorney general who has shown he’s willing to do Donald Trump’s political bidding.”

Saying “it’s dangerous,” Bash suggests that Barr and Trump will practice “selective declassification” to spin a narrative about the origin of the Russia investigation to their point of view. Sounds like Bash has had spin experience.

WHAT WAS SHE THINKING? – What purpose did it serve for Democrat presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar to relive her experience of listening to the late John McCain recite the names of dictators as they sat together at President Trump’s inauguration?

Speaking to voters in Des Moines, Iowa Saturday, she told reporters that she listened to McCain recite the name of dictators during the president’s speech “because he knew more than any of us what we were facing as a nation. He knew this man (Trump) more than any of us did.” It was an immature stunt on McCain’s part and she was more than happy to participate in it.

She obviously wanted to paint a picture of President Trump as a dictator, though there is no evidence of that in his behavior; only in the minds of the left.

It’s hard to believe she is so ignorant that she didn’t detect the vengeance in McCain’s insulting recitation. I can picture her impolitely chuckling as she sat between McCain and Bernie Sanders on this historic occasion. Sick.

Yes, Trump insulted McCain during the campaign, but McCain achieved a payback with his dramatic thumbs-down vote on the repeal of ObamaCare. A vengeful act that hurt not just Trump, but his party and the nation.

Klobuchar should be concerned with the 22 opponents she must defeat before even thinking about a match-up with Trump.

THEN THERE’S PETE Buttigieg, who, when asked by the Washington Post, “Is President Trump racist?” responded with: “If you do racist things, and say racist things, the question of whether that makes you a racist is almost academic. The problem with the president is that he does and says racist things and gives cover to other racists.”

Jeffrey Lord at NewsBusters noticed that the Washington Post was again practicing fake news through omission. The Post didn’t question Buttigieg’s recent meeting over dinner with Al Sharpton, who has a documented record of racist, anti-Semite, and anti-gay comments.

THERE THEY GO AGAIN – Democrat presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are again attacking corporations that pay no taxes. Their “unfairness” and “rigged” charges are designed to rile-up average taxpayers, but they know corporations are doing nothing illegally.

They want voters to believe that this is a Trump administration phenomenon, but it is a perennial topic in Washington. There’s agreement that the rules should be changed, but there’s no consensus on what those changes ought to be.

For example, Kramerontheright noted that 27 profitable S&P 500 corporations reported negative interest tax expenses in 2015, Obama’s last year in office, despite their pre-tax profits. Among them were United/Continental and American Airlines, GM and Hewlett Packard.

Sanders recently bashed Amazon and Netflix for paying no taxes last year, calling it a “disgrace.”

Amazon responded by saying it “pays all the taxes we are required to pay in the U.S. and every country where we operate, including paying $2.6 billion in corporate tax and reporting $3.4 billion in tax expense over the last three years.”

“It is inaccurate to say that we payed zero in federal income taxes in the U.S. in 2018,” said a Netflix spokesperson, “Our effective tax rate in 2018 was reduced by a number of items typical of many other companies, including adjustments for 2017 tax reform.”

CNN LAID OFF EMPLOYEES in a restructuring move that would be called a “bloodbath” or “housecleaning,” if they were reporting on the White House.

But Brian Stelter simply called the move “part of the normal course of business that impacts 6 or 7 employees within CNN’s Health Unit. The network combined three divisions – CNN Health, CNN Climate and the Atlanta-based Southeast Bureau.

Funny … there was no mention of CNN’s plunging ratings necessitating the restructuring move.

ATTENTION DEMOCRAT CANDIDATES – Dr. Susan Berry at Breitbart notes that researchers at the New York Times have found that the happiest wives are those who are religious conservatives.

“Fully 73 percent of wives who hold conservative gender values and attend religious services regularly with their husbands have high-quality marriages,” the report revealed.

Democrat candidates who continually give religious freedom the back of their hand while continuing to move left, should be really concerned.

May God bless the United States of America.
