Here are my observations and opinions on my selected news of the day.
HANG TOUGH,FOLKS – It appears that the Democrat effort to wear you down with their constant charges against President Trump may be causing you concern for the president’s future.
One friend, who often shares his feelings about the president, recently cited his concern over Trump’s lack of strategic thinking in his foreign policy decisions, namely Syria.
Another friend wrote that it looked to him that the president was in “real trouble,” as he cited the actions of the Swamp. He noted how things were “piling up against Trump.”
I am bothered by this because it’s what the Democrats hope will happen among Trump supporters. Their aim is to turn Trump supporters.
Remember, they are believers in Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. No. 10 – “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.”
A number of pundits believe that the Democrats’ have resorted to denounce the Trump presidency with impeachment interviews because they expect he could win reelection against any from their weak stable of candidates.
“When the top three candidates are a self-avowed socialist, a former vice president mired in scandal, and a quasi-populist at war with Wall Street, it’s fair to say there is room for concern,” writes Michael Starr Hopkins in The Hill.
Think about it. Hundreds of Congressmen refused to attend his inauguration, and within minutes of his taking the oath, the Washington Post was calling for his impeachment. Attack after attack have followed, leading to a behind-closed-doors effort in the House they hope will leads to a call for his impeachment.
Did you hear that when Kurt Volker repeatedly decline to agree to Adam Schiff’s characterization of (Ukraine) events, Schiff said, “Ambassador, you’re making this much more complicated than it has to be.”
Nancy Pelosi stomping out of Wednesday’s meeting in the White House was no doubt planned to give her another opportunity to go the microphone and paint another picture of Trump as unfit. You will recall that she did the same thing in May when she was invited to discuss infrastructure and border security.
I’m also bothered, however, by the fact that as a political news wonk, I do a great deal of research, reading a wide-range of viewpoints in publications that all of you cannot do, in my endeavor to persuade you that it’s politics. I recall telling you to stay calm awhile back.
Recognize that President Trump has had to deal with something previous presidents haven’t – the Deep State, Obama administration holdovers, opposed to Trump’s promise to drain the swamp.
The Democrat party doesn’t make a secret of it. Speaking to party members at the kickoff of the recent debate, DNC Chairman Tom Perez gave a shout out to the Deep State whistleblowers, and endorsed the Dem’s impeachment push and thanked “the dedicated career professionals at the State Department and the intelligence community who are speaking truth to power and putting our country firsts.”
I hopeful that the DOJ IG report will indeed be released Friday, and Deep Staters will be held accountable. It could give the president an opportunity to spike the football.
I frequently write that Trump can’t win, no matter what he does or says. Thursday, President Trump extended his “warmest condolences to the family and many friends of Congressman Elijah Cummings. I got to see first hand the strength, passion and wisdom of this high respected political leader. His work and voice on so many fronts will be very hard, if not impossible, to replace!”
Yet, PBS’ Yamiche Alcindor couldn’t resist taking another shot at the president, and tweeted two of his negative comments of Cummings dating back to July.
EVER WONDER IF YOU DECIDEDD TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT and nobody showed up for your announcement? That happened Wednesday when Mark Sanford announced his primary run against President Trump, according to Rick Moran of PJ Media, who was the only member of the media on hand.
“The bell in the Independence Hall tower rang at 9 a.m., and Mark Sanford took a deep breath … next to a tiny wooden lectern, and asked me if I was ready for him to kick off his news conference,” wrote Moran.
The only others around were two of his aides and a family standing some 30 yards away shooting selfies.
“Nobody knows me in Philadelphia. I get it,” Sanford said.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
