There is an enemy within, believe it … Nikki Haley said ‘no’ to participation … the public is seeing through effort to remove Trump … the arrogant one, Sen. Whitehouse … the WSJ disappoints … and another Great Truth

Here are my observations and opinions on my selected news of the day.

THE ENEMY WITHIN – Regular readers know that I have written extensively on my concern over the Obama administration holdovers of the Deep State and those within the Trump administration, who have become disenchanted with him, each with a goal of undermining his presidency.

The media mocked those who spoke of a conspiracy and a coup, but didn’t hesitate to write about the internal effort to generate support to use the 25th Amendment to remove him from office as unfit or unable to discharge the duties of the president, and the suggestion that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein would wear a wire in the White House.

Today, the Schiff committee will hear testimony from career foreign service and other disgruntled bureaucrats, who will complain how President Trump has taken away their foreign policy roles, using second and third-hand knowledge of the Ukraine phone call.

It will be interesting now to see how they cover former United Nation’s Ambassador Nikki Haley’s revelation that former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly tried to recruit her to work with them to “save the country” from Donald Trump.

Appearing on CBS News with Norah O’Donnell, Haley stated “It definitely happened.”

I have often said that if someone disagrees with the president and believes that he or she can not longer serve him, they should resign, as did former Defense Secretary James Mattis.

“Go tell the president what your differences are, and quit if you don’t like what he’s doing,” Haley claims to have told Tillerson and Kelly.

Kramerontheright believes the American public is beginning to see through the many attempts to undermine the president, and that the current attempt to gin up support for impeachment will be seen as more vindictiveness, small potatoes when the pending DOJ IG report is released.

YOU KNOW, THE ARROGANT ONE – I was trying to think of one of the Democrat senators on the Judiciary Committee awhile back and could only recall that he was arrogant.  It occurred to me quickly that there are a number that would rate that description.

THE ARROGANT ONE, Rhode Island’s Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (politico)

It was Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), who I was trying to think of at the time as a friend started naming off other senators – Blumenthal, Durbin, and Booker … and even a couple of women – Harris and Hirono – before the name of Whitehouse surfaced.

This all came to mind as I began reading about Judicial Watch filing an ethics complaint against Whitehouse for “practicing law without the proper authorization while violating the Rhode Island Rules of Professional Conduct by attacking the federal judiciary and openly threatening the U.S. Supreme Court.”

While on inactive status of the Rhode Island bar, Senator Whitehouse is not permitted to practice law there, however, on August 12, 2019 he filed an amicus curiae brief with the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of fellow arrogant Senators Blumenthal, Hirono, Durbin and Hillibrand.  He is not authorized to practice law in another jurisdiction, including the District of Colombia.

Whitehouse’s brief said, “The Supreme Court is not well.  And the people know it.  Perhaps the Court can heal itself before the public demands it to be restructured in order to reduce the influence in of politics.”

“In other words,” the Judicial Watch article says, “if the U.S. Supreme Court does not rule the way Senator Whitehouse and his clients prefer, they will use their power to restructure the Court.”

They still cannot get past President Trump’s success in getting Neil Gorsuch and Bret Kavanaugh confirmed despite their dirty tricks.

Citing Rhode Island’s rules of conduct, the Judicial Watch complaint noted Whitehouse’s intent to “harass or intimidate,” “disrespect for the legal system and for those who serve it, including judges,” and the lack of “a professional, courteous and civil attitude toward all persons involved in the legal system.”

THE NEWS SIDE of the Wall Street journal is frequently seen as contributors to fake news by Kramerontheright.  The Journal’s six-column banner headline above the fold Monday, “GOP Dissent Emerges on Trump, Ukraine,” with a subhead of “Top Republicans differ over whether the president’s actions warrant impeachment,” drew my attention as I was curious to learn who those “top Republicans” were.

The article began with “Top Republicans on Sunday offered …” (no names).  Paragraph two opened with “One senior GOP House lawmaker condemned …” (no name). Paragraph three began with “A Republican senator said …” (no name).

It wasn’t until paragraph 14 of 19 that the name of Republican Rep. Mac Thornberry was quoted as saying, “I don’t believe it was impeachable.”  And in the following paragraph Republican Sen. John Kennedy reviewed the possible scenarios, but didn’t reveal “dissent” as the headline stated.

Finally, in the last two paragraphs, Republican Rep. William Hurd, brought up the question of the president’s intent to withhold aid to Ukraine, and trying to get information on a political rival as violations of the law, two aspects yet to be proven, with no clear statement of dissent.
