Bolton ‘bombshell’ a dud … hyprocritical Democrats … RINOS want witnesses … House managers voted against weapons for Ukraine … ban on fracking will hurt Dems in Ohio, Pennsylvania … Trump’s team going to Iowa … and winning back the House

Here are my observations and opinions from my select news of the day.

BOLTON ‘BOMBSHELL’ A DUD – Just as the anti-Trump resistance attempted to bring in last minute charges of sexual assault to block the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, someone leaked draft wording from John Bolton’s forthcoming book in an effort to persuade senators to ask that Bolton be brought in as a witness.

You will recall, Schiff & Co. subpoenaed Bolton, but he asked that the courts decide whether he was required to testify.  That interfered with their goal of completing work on the articles by Christmas, so they withdrew the subpoena. It is believed that Bolton, like White House  Advisor Charles Kupperman, would threaten to sue the House.

THE TWIN BROTHERES VINDMAN (ap/juliocortez)

There’s a question, as usual, who leaked the manuscript of Bolton’s book to the New York Times.

It was revealed, however, as a matter of interest by a number of conservative publications, that the individual who is charged with reviewing all book manuscripts in the National Security Council, is none other than Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, the twin-brother of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman.  It was the latter who testified that the president’s phone call wasn’t “proper.” He didn’t like President Trump’s Ukraine policy.

Breitbart has reported that Vindman vetted Bolton’s book in December.  Did he collaborate with his brother, or another Deep Stater, to surface the manuscript midway through the Senate deliberations?

THE HYPOCRITICAL DEMOCRATS – Surely, you’ve noticed how Democrats have turned Ronald Reagan and John McCain into their political heroes and frequently quote them while presenting their case.

Over the years, there hasn’t been a Democrat who respected John Bolton, a hawk, who often spoke of the power of the presidency.  Now, the disgruntled Bolton, fired by President Trump, who originally said he wouldn’t testify, who then later offered to testify, is now sought after as a super credible individual.

SEN. JAMES LANKFORD, Republican of Oklahoma, suggested Tuesday that if John Bolton has something to say, there are microphones everywhere and all he has to do is say what’s on his mind.

But that’s just common sense.  His colleagues on that most deliberative body would insist that he appear on the Senate floor and take an oath of truthfulness.

Kramerontheright has had it with the likes of Senators Romney, Alexander, Collins, Murkowski and Gardner, who frequently set themselves apart from their colleagues to seek special attention as deep thinkers.  One exception was Susan Collins’ statement in favor of Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

Of the two Democrat senators considered to be leaning toward acquittal of the president – Joe Manchin and Doug Jones – I’ve scratched Manchin, who now wants to hear witnesses and seemed to diss Trump’s foreign policy during a Tuesday interview.

The decision to bring in witnesses still hasn’t been decided.  Majority Leader Mitch McConnell revealed Tuesday that he does not have the votes to block the request for witnesses. First, we are forced to deal with two eight-hour sessions of hearing the written questions of senators moderated by Chief Justice John Roberts.

HAVE YOU HEARD that three of the House managers, who have been pressing for the removal of President Trump from office over the perceived delay of vital military hardware to Ukraine – Nadler, Lofgren and Jeffries – on July 26, 2018 voted against the Fiscal Year 2019 National Defense Authorization Act, which included  $250 million in security assistance to Ukraine?  That didn’t stop Lofgren from stating “Support for the aid and against the hold was unanimous, forceful and unwavering.”

“Ukraine remains at war with Russia,” said a passionate Jeffries, “it desperately needs our support.”

“We will show that he (Trump) betrayed vital national interests, specifically our national security, by withholding diplomatic support and military aid from Ukraine,” said Nadler.

One of the president’s attorneys, Jay Sekulow, while referencing this hypocrisy on Tuesday, saved them their individual embarrassment by saying some of you supported the military aid for Ukraine and some of you didn’t.

MEANWHILE, out on the campaign trail, following Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, too, has hurt her chances of winning in Pennsylvania or Ohio if she wins her party’s nomination, by declaring that she will ban all hydraulic fracking for natural gas.  Both states have seen considerable job improvement numbers because of fracking.

IOWA OR BUST – President Trump’s campaign team is moving into Iowa during the Democrat caucus period, leaving no opportunity slip by.  Vice President Pence will travel the state by bus, and President Trump has scheduled a rally for Des Moines.

As I write this, President Trump is headed for the blue state of New Jersey to hold a rally.  More than a hundred thousand people lined up in the early morning hours to gain entry at 5 p.m. for a program that will begin at 7 p.m. with knowledge that the venue will accommodate just 10,000.  Thousands will view his speech on large outdoor screens along the beachfront.

IN AN EFFORT TO WIN BACK THE HOUSE, the Washington Examiner reports that National Republican Candidate Committee recruitment numbers are looking up; 190 women have filed, 196 veterans have filed, and 155 minorities have filed.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
