NEWS FROM THE FRONT … frontal and flanking maneuver attacks in the Six-Month War to unseat President Trump

In the spirit of war correspondents like Ernie Pyle and Edward R. Morrow, I will continue to share my observations and opinions, sharing information from those close to the fight.

In my last blog, “Preparing for the Six-Month War,” I wrote that we were witnessing the beginning of the Democrats’ frontal assault, the left’s last gasp effort to end the presidency of Donald Trump, after three and a half years of failures to do so.

President Trump refers to himself as a “wartime president,” confronting an invisible enemy – Covid-19.  At the same time, we know that he continues to face another enemy – the “resistance,” loyal leftists who continue to believe he is an illegitimate president.

Unlike the resistance groups of World War II, who worked underground, the Beltway resistance began that way as the Deep State, Obama administration holdovers, who worked under-cover at the highest levels of the State Department, the Department of Justice and its Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The investigation of the DOJ and FBI by DOJ IG Michael Horowitz revealed some of their activities, and copies of e-mails and text messages have revealed the names of a number of the bad actors.

Later, several Obama supporters in the bureaucracy testifying before the House, clumsily attempted to use his phone call to the Ukrainian president as a means to get him impeached. Again, they failed.

We are witnessing frontal assaults by Democrat lawmakers, aided by attacks from the flanks by the media and anti-Trumpers, Democrat and Republican.

The resistance is now operating more brazenly in the open, along with the media, its misinformation arm.

Lawmakers, with the help of the media, used their dislike for Attorney General Bill Barr, to register their disapproval of his dropping charges on Michael Flynn, to move Clinton-appointed Judge Emmet Sullivan to delay that dismissal.

Eli Lake, a journalist, wrote @EliLake: The best way to view Sullivan’s unprecedented actions today in the Flynn case is a last gasp of the “resistance.” In the last year the collusion conspiracy theory has collapsed.  It’s discredited. Sullivan’s actions are deeply unfair to Flynn, but the truth is out.”

Nancy Pelosi used her “leadership” of the House to mollify the resistance, by passing a $3 trillion bill crammed with funds for use in other than pandemic aid, knowing that the Senate would reject it and the president would not sign it.

Using a familiar wartime misinformation tactic used by Joseph Goebbels, the German Minister of Propaganda, Pelosi tells sympathizers that her legislation is “very strategically planned … to meet the needs of the American people regarding the coronavirus pandemic,” knowing it wasn’t true.

She tells the opposition, including more than a dozen members of her own party, “if you vote against this and all this funding for your state, then you have to go home and defend it.”

However, the out-of-touch Pelosi is seemingly unaware that the American people across the nation are protesting the lockdown.  They don’t want handouts.  They want to go back to work.

IN ANOTHER FRONTAL ATTACK, Connecticut Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy, in an interview with Newsweek, threw cold water on President Trump’s ambitious proposal, “Operation Warp Speed,” a goal of having 300 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine available by the end of the year.  The left takes every opportunity to criticize the president.

I am reminded of the numerous times that Democrats have recommended “bold” goals, while referencing JFK’s plan to go to the moon.  Similar to the Manhattan Project, President Trump’s goal is bold, and there is a reason to be skeptical, but Trump, as a cheerleader for America, gives us warriors hope for the future as we deal with the invisible enemy.

AN ATTACK FROM THE FLANK – In another pathetic attempt to discredit  President Trump, the Washington Post published a ludicrous op-ed by Brian Klaas, who wrote @brianklaas: “If Trump loses, there’s a real possibility he will reject the results, absurdly claim it was rigged, and say he’s the victim of the ‘deep state.’  And he will send that message to some people who are heavily armed, which could prove deadly.”

Note Klaas’ disbelief in the Deep State, and his prediction of “armed” right wing fanatics. It’s the likes of the Post that are dividing the nation, not Trump.

The left uses flanking maneuvers by “friendlies” like the Post to publish fantasy theories and general misinformation to disrupt and distract the Trump administration.

DISINFORMATION FROM THE FLANK – The left-leaning Daily Beast chose to discredit the accomplished intelligence reporter Catherine Herridge, who recently joined CBS News after a stint at Fox News Channel@TheDailyBeast: “Democrats on Capitol Hill have grown particularly irked by Catherine Herridge’s work, believing she’s become a de facto clearinghouse for conservative conspiracy theorists who want to give the veneer of mainstream objectivity.”

BEYOND THE BELTWAY – Recognizing that the president needs an improved economy going into November, blue state governors are keeping businesses in their states closed by continuing their lockdowns, while preventing their citizens of their guaranteed freedoms of speech and religion.

I WAS FIT TO BE TIED – During an interview of the DNC’s Communications Director Xochitl Hinojosa (sic), Fox’s Bill Hemmer, was so insistent that she answer his question, which she was avoiding, he allowed her to demagogue the politicization of the Barr Justice Department … once, twice, three and four times.

Hemmer opened with the question: “Why would Joe Biden want to know about Michael Flynn back then?”

Hinojosa responded with “All you are having Republicans do right now is distract from the fact that they continue to politicize the Justice Department,” and was permitted to drone on.

Hemmer continued to press for the answer to his question.

Hinojosa came back with “But right now, when it comes to the Justice Department politicizing things, time and time again you continue to see this Justice Department politicize issues in order to help Donald Trump.”

Hemmer allowed her to continue when he should have cited the numerous occasions when Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch politicized DOJ for Obama.

Hinojosa: “You continue to see this Justice Department and specifically Bill Barr trying to cover for the president … the American people can’t trust this Justice Department … play(ing) political games in order to benefit Donald Trump.”

Hemmer: “One more time …”

Hinojosa: “I think that right now it’s extremely troubling, and if you are viewers at home I would say – you know what? I want a new president and I want a new Justice Department who will remain independent …”

Hemmer: “Why would Joe Biden want to know about Michael Flynn at that time?”

Finally, Hinojosa answered with, “to get more intelligence.”

I give Hemmer credit for his persistence, but allowing his subject to take charge and use the interview to make a political statement not once, but four times, is inexcusable.  Shame on Hemmer.  And Fox.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
