A nation gone mad? … a quick review … foolish remarks from the media and a mayor … a Soros-backed attorney refuses to prosecute rioters … a new look at Black Lives Matter … Obama staffer supports rioter … Mattis disappoints … Murkowski goes weak-kneed, again … our law and order president … and Graham wants accountability

These are my observations and opinions from my select news of the day.

WHAT’S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY?  In “The Nation Has Gone Mad,” a feature in The Federalist written by Tristan Justice, she concludes, “The nation has truly lost its mind.”

Justice’s piece addresses the rioting and looting, writing about rioters “who are committing gross racial injustices themselves, exerting their ruthless fury on their own.”

My concern over what has been happening began in 2016, when our duly elected president was elected and almost immediately attacked.

IN THIS BLOG, I’ve been chronicling the efforts of the left to block President Trump’s pledge to make America great again.  How is it that citizens of this great nation don’t want him to succeed?  Hatred for the Donald Trump, the man.

He is changing the ways of establishment Washington, and those entrenched there – the Deep State – with the help of the media, do not want him to succeed.

I thought the last three plus years of efforts by the Washington resistance to bring down the Trump presidency was over the top, but he endured it all, including a failed Democrat-directed impeachment trial.

With the Democrats back on their heels, as his reelection was practically assured in our booming economy, we were hit with the virus crisis.  It gave the devious Democrat Party another means for attacking the president when true Americans would have united to address the invisible enemy.

While most Americans adhered to the White House guidelines for distancing and hygiene for months, the left criticized his every move, even as he gave us daily updates on surviving the virus.

Then, just when much of the nation was reopening for business, four Minneapolis policemen brutally killed an unarmed black man, a video of which has been seen by the world.  It gave the Democrats still another opportunity to blame Trump, and he was quickly accused of being out of touch with black communities.

Never mind that President Trump successfully passed criminal justice reform legislation, something that the Obama-Biden administration was unable to do in eight years.

President Trump provided millions of dollars to black colleges and universities, and working with South Carolina’s black Sen. Tim Scott, opportunity zones were established.

Meanwhile, as a result of the Trump-created economy, all minorities saw unemployment rates dip to the lowest point in history, as wages went up.

Then a black man, George Floyd, became a victim of racially charged policemen.

NOW THE MEDIA is twisting the act of the four Minneapolis policemen to a situation created by President Trump, whom they often called racist. The left-leaning PBS fact-checked his statement that anarchists are involved in the rioting.  Networks avoided the use of the word “riot.”

CNN’s buffoon Chris Cuomo offered, “Please, show me where it says that protests are supposed to be polite and peaceful?” The First Amendment does specify “the right of the people peaceably assemble,” Cuomo needs reminding.

“Calling what’s happening on the streets domestic terrorism is both plainly wrong and insanely dangerous and irresponsible,” said MSNBC’s Chris Hayes.

KIMBERLY GARDNER (sacreengrab)

“I’m tired of hearing about violence and non-violence.  The only violence I have seen in the street is the police,” tweeted CNN’s Christiane Amanpour @camanpour, claiming that a friend is now blind in one eye because she was hit with a rubber bullet.  Has she ever heard about being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Then there’s this, from the leftist Jenny Durkin, Mayor of Seattle @MayorJenny: “I want to acknowledge that much of the violence and destruction, both here in Seattle and across the country, has been instigated and perpetuated by white men.”  Do you suppose she is pandering to her black constituents?

You’ve probably heard about protestors arrested in New York being released the following day.  In St. Louis, Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner reportedly declined to prosecute those arrested for looting and rioting.  What you need to know is that she has a record of accepting campaign contributions from billionaire George Soros.

HOW’S THIS FOR HYPOCRICY? – Planned Parenthood, the organization that kills more than 200 black babies a day, tweeted @PPFA: “We’re devastated, grieving, and outraged by violence against Black lives.”

INTERESTINGLY, Dilbert creator Scott Adams notes @ScottAdamsSays: “After several days of protests, your empathy for the Black Lives Matter movement is 7.4 percent higher, 72.4 percent lower and 20.3 percent about the same.”  Is it any wonder?

WITH THE SUDDEN NOSTALGIA for President Obama, his election and reelection as the first black president, surely you know that he didn’t produce the improvement in racial relations voters had hope for.   The 2008 Gallup poll revealing that 70 percent of whites and 61 percent of blacks indicating relations between blacks and whites were very or somewhat good, disappeared in 2015 when those percentages dipped to 45 percent among whites and 51 percent among blacks.

Columnist and blogger Jon Gabriel offered this tongue-in-cheek tweet @exjon:  “My favorite part about the Obama era is all the racial healing.”

AND HAVE YOU HEARD that a former Obama intelligence official who worked in both the State Department and Defense, Salmah Rizvi, provided $250,000 in bail to secure the release of fellow lawyer, Urooj Rahman, who was arrested after throwing a lit Molotov cocktail through the window of an NYPD vehicle?

Here’s an interesting side note.  Rizvi was provided a scholarship toward her law degree by the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans. Paul Soros is the older brother of liberal billionaire George Soros.

WITH ALL THIS CRAZINESS – Former chief of staff to President Trump, retired general James Mattis, came out of the woodwork to join Mike Mullen in an effort to bring criticism upon the president.  He properly resigned when he could no longer serve the president, but that is normally followed by not commenting as a matter of diplomatic courtesy.

Disappointingly, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), whose allegiance to the Republican Party is always in doubt, was moved by Mattis’ comments about the president.

Though she previously pledged to continue to work with the president and his administration she now admits to be “struggling” to decide whether to support his reelection.  Murkowski is a RINO in the mold of the late John McCain.

AND IF THAT ISN’T CRAZY ENOUGH, our Secretary of Defense Mark Esper flirted with disobeying the orders of the commander in chief, saying that the use of active duty forces should be used as a last resort, and would not support invoking the insurrection act.  Does he not see the failure of law enforcement in city after city?  If he’s serious, he should resign.

The Constitution ensures “domestic tranquility,” and the president has the authority to call out the troops.  If there is disorder, and the states cannot control violence, the president has the duty to intervene to uphold law the law and protect the republic.

AND WHILE OUR PRESIDENT SEEKS LAW AND ORDER, the left is seeking to defund police departments. Can you imagine a country without police protection?

THEN THERE’S THIS – Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are criticizing chairman Lindsay Graham’s opening of testimony on the origins of the investigation of Russian collusion as he seeks accountability of those issues discovered in the DOJ IG report, referring it to as politically motivated.  Those were the same Dems who didn’t recognize the impeachment trial as a partisan political act.

YES, things seem to be going to hell, but it demands that all of us support President Trump as he continues to fight those who would destroy America.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
