The left and Republican anti-Trumpers are arrogantly attacking President Trump for his unwillingness to concede; that he lost and is preventing the Biden-Harris transition to begin.
Susan Rice, described as one of the latest in a group of “bipartisan leaders,” wrote in an op-ed that the president’s refusal is harming national security. Others see it as a threat to our democracy. Nonsense. Our nation is strong and resilient.
“This lessens faith in institutions and in the party’s reputation,” charged columnist Peggy Noonan, who would simply have you forget the severe damage to our democracy the previous administration did within the DOJ, FBI and CIA. And let’s not forget how team Obama caused us to question our faith in the integrity of the IRS.
Pollsters, who should have disappeared into the sunset by now, found that the majority of the public disapproves of the president’s post-election actions.
“It is quite funny to think people are supposed to trust projections from the same media outlets and pollsters who insisted Biden would win Wisconsin by 17 points and Florida by five and that Republicans would easily lose the Senate and probably quite a few House seats too,” opined Amber Athey in Spectator.us.
They conveniently forget that for four years they considered him the illegitimate president and fought him at every turn, but he accomplished more in his first term than past presidents; thank you.
It’s why he outperformed the polls and added some 10 million supporters to his base, including record numbers of minorities.
He’s a fighter. President Trump knows, as do 73 million Americans, that something smells in the way voting was handled in a number of states, and he is doing everything he can within the law to fight hard for those who voted for him. They remember how Mitt Romney and John McCain limped away after defeat after poor performances on the campaign trail.
Nearly half of likely voters, 47 percent, believe the election was stolen from Trump, including nearly a third of Democrats, according to a November 17-18, 2020 survey by Rasmussen.
Isn’t it rich how the Biden team and the media now disregard this advice from Hillary Clinton, the so-called “smartest woman in the world,” when she anticipated a different outcome?
“Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances, because this is going to drag out, and eventually I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch, and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side.” – Hillary Clinton, August 25, 2020
“The president will fight like a gladiator until the election is conclusively determined,” said Mick Mulvaney, who served as the president’s chief of staff, “not because it’s his nature, but also because there is so much at stake.
“Voters need this election to be fully litigated,” he says, concerned with rumors of dead people who voted or ballot dumps in the middle of the night over the next four years.
“He’ll fight hard to make sure the results are fair, and in the end, he’ll accept the result whatever it is. I have every expectation that Mr. Trump will act and speak like a great president should.” – Mick Mulvaney, November 9, 2020
Don’t think the Georgia runoff election for Republican Senators Loeffler and Perdue isn’t weighing heavily on the president’s mind. His throwing in the towel prematurely could affect the outcome of those contests; so important to our control of the Senate.
It’s because of these contests that Republicans have been silent on the president not conceding. “They’re not bothered that Trump has not provided for a smooth, gracious transition of power,” noted Byron York in his Daily Memo.
“Helping Republicans win the Senate would be the best way for Trump to stick it to Biden, to stick it to Chuck Schumer, to stick it to Nancy Pelosi to get some measure of payback, and to walk away from Washington with Republicans having real power to preserve some of Trump’s accomplishments.” – Byron York, November 18, 2020
Let the opposition snipe. When President Trump’s effort to uncover sufficient wrongdoing in state elections is exhausted, I believe he will gracefully concede within an exciting, but emotional stemwinder of a speech that will remind the faithful why they supported him. And I won’t be surprised if he assures them of his plan to continue the fight for “his” party.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
