It’s Time to Take A Look Back: On Conceding the Election, Attorney General Barr, and Climate Change

Commentary

ON CONCEDING – While President Trump continues to play out all options available to him to recover a presidency that he claims was his in most states on election night, we must not lose track of the advice Hillary Clinton provided Joe Biden.

“Joe Biden should not concede the presidential election under any circumstances because I think this will drag out and eventually, I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is.” – Hillary Clinton

You may recall my reference to a quote by former Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi: “If you can accept losing, you can’t win,” in my November 7, 2020 posting.   I don’t like to lose, and I know that President Trump doesn’t either.

However, I have no doubt that if it were not for the wide-spread voting irregularities caused primarily by the introduction of mass mail-in ballot voting, subjecting the voting process to fraud, coupled with the probability of voting machine manipulation, President Trump would have conceded the election.

Joe Biden says it’s time to move on, but if the shoe were on the other foot, he would probably be following Hillary’s advice.

ON ATTORNEY GENERAL BILL BARR – They were all singing the same tune. Attorney General Barr was acting as if he were President Trump’s personal attorney … there were Senators Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren, and Kamala Harris, Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Jerold Nadler, and even the left-leaning Fox anchor Chris Wallace.

When Barr hinted of wrongdoing in the DOJ and FBI and his intention to get to the bottom of it with the naming of U.S. Attorney John Durham to investigate, the left set out to insult Barr’s integrity.

Oh, how quickly they forget Attorney General Eric Holder, who not only did President Obama’s dirty work, but openly admitted to being his “wingman,” refusing to release documents to the Oversight Committee when the GOP held the majority.  And how can anyone forget Holder’s protection of Obama in the IRS coverup in the cases against those conservative groups seeking tax exempt status.

Yet, it was Barr who held up the integrity of the Justice Department by insisting that Durham’s findings would not be permitted to affect the outcome of the presidential election.  He did this, recognizing it would further frustrate his boss, the president.

Certainly, if he had truly been serving as Trump’s personal attorney, he would have not put rule of law first, leaving the Deep Staters on the left to with the guilt of their transgressions to “get” President Trump still hanging over their heads.

Will Biden’s attorney general be his “personal attorney” and prevent Durham’s findings of what happened on the Obama-Biden watch from being revealed?

Barr’s resignation should be must reading for those who were out to get him and the president.

Stating that he was “greatly honored” that he was called upon to serve his administration and the American people again as attorney general, and “proud to have played a role in the many successes and unprecedented achievements you have delivered for the American people.”

He pointed out how the president, in his 2016 victory speech, had reached out to his opponents and how his call for working together for the benefit of the American people was immediately met “by a partisan onslaught against you in which no tactic, no matter how abusive and deceitful, was out of bounds.”

“Few could have weathered these attacks, much less forged ahead with a positive program for the country,” referring to his strong economy, the restoration of the military, the historic brokering of peace deals in the Mideast, curbing illegal immigration and his commitment to Operation Warp Speed.

AND THAT NON-ISSUE, CLIMATE CHANGE, the futile attempt to affect the world temperature by reducing carbon emissions through the expansion of renewable energy.  In two earlier commentaries on this subject, I called your attention to the survey that climate change was ranked 12th on a list of “very important” issues, yet the Biden administration intends to address it as if it were the number one issue.

Democrats are scheming a grandiose plan beyond their announced intention to rejoin the Paris Accord and bring on more regulations that will have no effect on global temperatures.

A report of a Senate Democrat Committee on Climate Crisis, proposes the Fed and eight regulatory agencies should penalize investment in fossil fuels and promote green energy.

Traditionally, the International Monetary Fund could be relied upon as a source of economic advice in this area. In “The IMF’s Net-Zero Fairly Tale,” Rupert Darwall reports that under it’s new managing director, Kristalina Georgieva, the IMF has traded economic integrity for green wokery – thus giving governments to push radical green policies in the false belief that there are few or no downsides.”

Those pushing for more spending on energy infrastructure and those clean energy jobs probably weren’t happy to see the Wall Street Journal’s editorial board piece. “Another Green Subsidy Bust.”

In it, they revealed the Chapter 11 plan for the reorganization by Tonopah Solar Energy, and the Crescent Dunes solar plant in Nevada that received $737 million in guaranteed loans form the Obama-Biden administration.

The Department of Energy gushed over the project in 2011, but there were construction delays, equipment failures and the plant generated no energy through the first half of 2017 when it was supposed to be up and producing energy.

It was supposed to produce up to 482,000 megawatt hours every year, but the plant didn’t produce that much energy in its lifetime.

Remember Solyndra and those shovel ready jobs?

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
