The Constitution
The Democrats have delivered their article of impeachment to the Senate knowing that Article, Section 3 indicates that the Senate could only stop Trump from holding office if it removes him as a sitting president.
Even Chief Justice John Roberts sees the futility in the move as the Constitution states that he “shall” preside only for the removal of a president. Not to be deterred, the Democrats have named Sen. Pat Leahy to preside as President Pro-Tempore of the Senate.
Then there’s the conviction difficulty faced by these vengeful Democrats requiring a two-thirds majority. There is no way 17 Republicans will sign with Democrats to convict. There are nearly 80 million Trump supporters who will be carefully noting how they vote.
So, when the trial ends with Senate acquittal, as it will, Trump will emerge politically strengthened. And while I doubt that he will again seek office, he will actively support candidates for the House and Senate in 2022. And that scares the hell out of the Left.
They know they won’t be successful convicting him, but they’re doing this to continue the smear, hoping you will finally give-in.
Why Were Forewarnings Ignored
There are still questions about the forewarnings of the January 6, 2021 riot involving the breach of our Capitol building. The FBI, Capitol Police and even the New York Police Department were aware of threats but failed to prepare for them, and were thoroughly unprepared for the attack.
Even the leftist New York Times reported that “Policing experts noted the absence of crowd control tools such as mounted officers, police dogs, or a heavily manned perimeter.”
Yet, former President Trump is being accused of encouraging insurrection while referring to their “peaceful, patriotic” march to the Capitol.
Personally, I believe DC law enforcement didn’t see a problem because Trump supporters, as evidenced by the joyful rallies of thousands during the campaign, were a peaceful group. Unlike those “peaceful” gatherings in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis and Kenosha that resulted in at least $2 billion in public and personal damages.
They certainly wouldn’t have expected the rioting and looting like that involving Antifa and the BLM in those cities. But Democrat leadership and the media was quick to call the breach of the Capitol work of “domestic terrorists” conducting a “coup.”

Dem’s Drum Up Lead-in to Trial
Democrats, with the aid of the media, have been filling air space with tales of white supremacists designed to be trial tease material.
We saw the hours of television exposure given to the service in the Capitol Rotunda for Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, and heard Sen. Chuck Schumer refer to, “the senseless tragedy we are still trying to grapple with.”
“Grapple with” is the pending impeachment trial that is surely to include hours of video coverage of the riot and testimonials from House and Senate members and staff about the trauma they experienced, all to convince the public of Trump’s pre-ordained guilt.
Then there was Rep. Alexandra Ocasio Cortez’s attempt to convince us that she believed that she was in eminent danger while huddled in the bathroom of her office, while failing to mention to the uninformed public that her office was in the Cannon Office Building, not in the Capitol. Thank goodness, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), who is officed just doors away from that of Ocasio Cortez, exposed her fabricated story.
The leftist USA Today even published an op-ed critical of quarterback Tom Brady’s support of President Trump, surely to be discussed over Super Bowl weekend in attempt to link him to white supremacy efforts. How disgusting.
Joe “No Unity” Biden could get kudos if he quietly told the Pelosi-Schumer cabal to stop the trial process, but he’s enjoying his new company on the left, who are addicted to removing Trump from the political scene.
Another Show Trial for TV
“So,” as the Wall Street Journal put it, “America gets to do this all over again.”
A Return to Normalcy?
The Left would have you believe that America is returning to normalcy with the reassuring face of President Biden beaming over a stack of executive orders he will sign to help us forget the damage Trump has done to America.
“In a normal America, does a defeated president pose such a threat to the party in power that he must be impeached after leaving office, to ensure he doesn’t win back the White House in four years?” asks Glenn H. Reynolds in the New York Post. “That’s where we are. The Democrats aren’t acting like a party secure in its position; they’re acting nervous and insecure and lashing out at any perceived threat.”
They’ve noted Trump’s 51 percent approval rating by Rasmussen after the January 6, 2021 breach of the Capitol. And they’ve surely noted that nearly half of the voters are concerned about election integrity.
