Trump Hasn’t Changed … Wins Approval of CPAC Audience

Commentary

While I had hoped former President Trump wouldn’t name names of those RINOs of the House and Senate, who disappointingly joined the left by repeating his supposed incitement of supporters on January 6, 2021, he levelled a full-throated rebuke of them.

And he continued to talk about his reelection being stolen, while emphasizing the need to promote voter integrity in the states. “We must pass comprehensive election reforms and we must do it now,” he said.

That aside, it was Trump at his best.  He was sharp and looked good. He had the audience on their feet most of the time.  The enthusiastic crowd loved him, and frequently shouted ‘we love you.’

“I love you, too,” he would respond.  He simply knows how to connect with his supporters, blue collar people.

Those who wanted to hear him go after Biden weren’t disappointed as he spoke of Biden’s first month being the most disastrous first month of a president in modern history.

His remark about Biden, “He’s not malicious.  He just doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about or what the hell is happening,” brought the house down.  As did his line, “in one short month we have gone from America first to America last.”

MOST IMPORTANT was his view of the party’s future, referring to the principles of “Trumpism.”  There were the references to low taxes, eliminating job-killing regulations, law enforcement and, of course, the protection of the Second Amendment, a strong military, and the importance of family.

Protecting our rich heritage and traditions, honoring our founders and the American flag continue to be a high priority.

Standing up to China, including the return of our factories and improving supply chains to ensure products are made in America.

“MORE THAN EVER,” the 45th president stated, “it is time for tough, strong, and energetic Republican leaders who have spines of steel.  We need strong leadership.  We cannot have leaders who show more passion for condemning their fellow Americans than they have ever shown for standing up to Democrats, the media and the radicals who want to turn America into a socialist country.

“Instead of attacking me and more importantly, the voters of our movement, top establishment Republicans in Washington should be spending their energy opposing Biden, Pelosi, Schumer and the Democrats.”

As expected, the former president easily won the CPAC 2024 presidential straw poll with a 97percent job approval rating.  Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and South Dakota Kristi Noem, who have supported the president, placed first and second, respectively, in a poll asking who they would support if Trump was not on the ballot.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT, yesterday was March 1 … “March Fool’s Day,” a new day designated to recognize those who voted for Biden-Harris.

LEADERSHIP MISSING – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Sunday that he “won’t be fighting to restart the Keystone XL pipeline” because the Biden administration “has made its decision on that.”  How’s that for someone who will stand up and fight?

“We’re much more interested in ensuring that we’re moving forward in ways that are good for both of our countries,” Trudeau embarrassingly told NBC’s Chuck Todd, citing clean energy projects and electric cars.

TRUMP LEADERSHIP helped improve the U.S. environment, outgoing EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler told The Epoch Times.  “All the environmental indicators improved under President Trump,” he said, “our air today is seven percent cleaner than it was when he took office.  Our water quality is highest it’s ever been.”

Wheeler also reported that the EPA under Trump got more Superfund sites cleaned up than it has in a generation.

Greenhouse gas emissions decreased in his first two years in office and again between 2018 and 2019, according to Wheeler, noting it was done without membership in the ineffective Paris Accord, where first world countries, France and Germany, are not meeting their emission targets.

BIDEN’S GOAL OF $100 PER GALLON gasoline by the end of his first 100 days was noted satirically by The Babylon Bee as “ambitious” even in view of his goal to kill the use of fossil fuels by 2050.  But you may have noted that gas prices have probably gone up in your area.  Prices have risen 13.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.75 per gallon.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
