BEAR WITH ME, friends … there’s so much in the stack begging for comment.

“CRABBY JOE” Biden lashed out with “I don’t care if you think I’m Satan reincarnated,” during his appearance on last week’s CNN townhall. 

Satan is a bit harsh. With a little of Tim Conway, I was thinking more of Scrooge McDuck, the money-grubbing Disney character, especially when I think about his cockamamie multi-trillion-dollar infrastructure bill and what it would do to the debt. 

Then, of course, there’s the Biden fortune he has accumulated over decades, benefiting from money-making schemes his brothers, James and Frank, sister Valerie, son-in-law Howard Klein, and son Hunter, who deftly used Joe’s name and positions as vice president, presidential candidate and now president.

Remember the line in one of Hunter’s e-mails – “10” to be held by “H” for the Big Guy?”

BIG GOVERNMENT – Former Democrat presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren, who often speaks of “the rich,” those at the “tippy top,” who have tax experts who seek creative ways to write off wealth, wants more government involvement in tax filings.

However, she’s looking at a means for getting into the tax filing of lower-income individuals.  Reportedly, Intuit, the TurboTax company, is looking to pull out of a little-known, Free File Program, that provides services free-of-charge to qualifying taxpayers.  Little-known, because the IRS has not advertised the program for many years.

“Intuit spent years chasing profits under the guise of helping low-income taxpayers,” tweeted Warren @SenWarren. “The government shouldn’t be relying on private industry to provide essential services.  The IRS can, and should, create its own free tax preparation and filing system.”

While TurboTax helps preparers to take advantage of all deductions available to them, and IRS system would more than likely represent government interests, not to maximize taxpayer deductions, or protect them from prying auditors.

“A TurboTax equivalent developed by the IRS will not benefit those at the bottom rung the way they claim,” Benyamin Applebaum of the New York Times recently opined. “It will be dysfunctional at best, and fail to represent taxpayers’ bests interests at worst, all while spending more money the federal government doesn’t have.”

THE REAL CLEAR AVERAGE of surveys put Vice President Harris at an under-water favorability of 44.3 percent, notably lower than her unfavourability of 46.3 percent.

ON THE SUBJECT OF RATINGS, I noted that NBC News’ flagship program, the Today Show, recorded a 10 percent drop from its 2020 viewership.  ABC’s Good Morning America viewership is down, too – nine percent.

Citing how the leftist media has failed to cover the rioting in Democrat-run cities,  facts uncovered on Hunter Biden, his businesses and laptop, and the stumbles of Joe Biden, Breitbart noted “the era of corporate media influence is over.  Americans are rebelling against those exposed frauds.”

JOE’S LATEST REPORT CARD by John Zogby and Jed Babbin at the Washington Examiner revealed low grades.  Democrat pollster Zogby gave Biden one of his lowest grades – a “D” minus, while Babbin give the prez a “D.”

THE CLEVELAND GUARDIANS? – Guardians?  Really?  Last month, I wrote of the sad demise of the Indians’ mascot, “Chief Wahoo,” and the name, “Indians.”  Guardians, I am told, is a reference to the art-deco style statues that guard the Hope Memorial Bridge.  Talk about an overreach.

In the words of Stephen L. Miller, writing in The Spectator, “Jackie Robinson did not change history, just for history to reverse itself in America in 2021.  The Cleveland Baseball Team calls Progressive Field (for the insurance company), but this franchise, which has set this country and this league back 100 years, are anything but.  The statues must be removed, and the name must be changed.”

NANCY PELOSI plans to invite RINO Adam Kinzinger to become a member of her January 6, 2021 “investigation” committee.  While he has been an outspoken critic of the GOP response to the breach of the Capitol, agreeing to participate in the sham may give him some satisfaction, it will ensure a dubious political future for the Illinois representative.
