Regarding My Enemies List; There’s More to Say

Commentary

Coincidentally, “Enemies of the State,” was the heading on John Hinderaker’s blog, PowerLine, in which he, too, noted Attorney General Merrick Garland’s decision to go after so-called “domestic terrorists” – parents and grandparents – who are practicing their right of free speech at school board meetings.

While my enemies list refers to enemies of the people, Garland views every day Americans, interested in their children’s education, as enemies of the state.

Sadly, many of the Patriotic overzealous protestors on January 6, 2021 were, and are treated as enemies of the state.

In Hinderaker’s blog, he quotes from Glenn Reynolds’ piece in the New York Post:

“American parents are organizing to fight racist critical race theory being taught in their kids’ schools.  Attorney General Merrick Garland, once touted as a moderate, has responded by asking the FBI to treat them as domestic terrorists.

“As befits the Biden administration, this over-the-top authoritarianism is accompanied by the stench or corruption, as it turns out that Garland’s son-in-law is in the business of selling educational materials on CRT.

“The bigger problem is that school boards all over America seem to be growing more authoritarian themselves. Instead of serving as bastions of small-scale representative democracy, boards seem to regard themselves as above accountability to the voters and parents.

“The magic words – I feel threatened – are now use by bureaucrats to escape accountability for their own misbehavior.”

The idea that the local authorities were unable to cope with the handful of incidents, cited in the National School Boards Association’s letter, is ridiculous.

Here’s some good news …

The dozen representatives of the media I included in my enemies list, who fail to report any news negative to the Biden administration, weren’t happy to read that the public’s trust in their reporting has sunk to a new low, according to a report from the Media Research Center.

Only 35 percent of the respondents in Gallup’s latest poll trust the media “to report the news fully, accurately and fairly.”  Gallup found that 68 percent of Democrats said they trust the media a great deal or a fair amount, but that number was 11 percent by Republicans and 31 percent by Independents.

The enemy doing their thing …

Senator Schumer – The antagonistic Democrat majority leader, in what Jordan Carney of the The Hill referred to as a “bizarre spectacle, exploding in a rant that was so partisan, angry, and corrosive that even Democrat senators were visible embarrassed by him and for him.” GOP Senate Leader McConnell got the best of him.

Secretary of State Blinken, Attorney General Garland and Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas, all on my enemies list, flew to Mexico City to negotiate on security immigration matters with Mexican officials, while Biden’s so-called border czar, Vice President Harris, also an enemy, was AWOL.  She considered visits to a daycare center and a vaccination site in New Jersey to be more important.

And, from the mouths of the enemy …

President Biden, in Elk Grove, Illinois, on October 7, 2021, campaigning for private employers to fire people who don’t get vaccinated, said, “We’re making sure healthcare workers are vaccinated because if you seek care at a healthcare facility, you should have the certainty that the people providing the care are protected from Covid and cannot spread it to you.”

Where were the media fact checkers on that lie? asked Sister Toldjah at Red State.  His own CDC director, Rochelle Walensky, told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, “vaccines can’t prevent transmission.”

Now, more than ever … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
