NOTE TO READERS: If you’ve noticed that you haven’t been receiving my blog as often as in the past, it’s because I had to resolve a delivery issue with the firm I use to e-mail it to you. It wasn’t initially apparent that there was a problem, and it appears that you may not have received my last six posts. If interested, they can all be found on the Internet at Kramerontheright.com. I apologize for this hiccup.
I hope you will continue to open my e-mails to check out what I have to say, as I try to give you my conservative prospective on a wide-range of political issues, developed after considerable research in places you may not frequent.
Our Sovereignty vs Ukraine’s
Perhaps you’ve heard about the teleconference President Biden had with the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and the UK, as well as the leaders of the European Commission and NATO over concern that Russia has amassed more than 100,000 troops, weapon systems, tanks and other equipment along its border with Ukraine.
Biden approved the shipment of military equipment, including anti-tank weapons, to Ukraine, and has put about 9,000 U.S. military personnel on heightened alert, not to engage in combat there, but to help protect our NATO country partners.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is fast-tracking a bill to defend Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
Jonathan Finer … someone you may not have heard of … who serves as Biden’s deputy national security advisor, said “it goes to a very fundamental principle of all nations, which is that our borders should be inviolate, that our sovereignty should be respected.”
Then there’s Vice President Harris, who said, “we have been clear and consistent for quite some time that we respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” while failing to protect our own sovereignty at our southern border as assigned.
Biden relinquished U.S. sovereignty the day he took office. While proclaiming “the United States has a right and duty to secure its borders and protect its people against threats,” he signed a proclamation that that stopped construction of the border wall and terminated the National Emergencies Act Concerning the Southern Border of the United States, declaring it “unwarranted.”
After he declared “my administration is committed to ensuring the United States has a comprehensive and humane immigration system that operates consistently with our nation’s values,” more than two million foreign nationals have swept across the border nearly unimpeded. They have been permitted to disappear in our cities, not just along our border, but across the nation.
But it isn’t just the illegal trafficking of humans, massive quantities of drugs continue to flow across the border.
As this ongoing assault on our national sovereignty and our territorial integrity continues, clearly, Biden has forgotten the oath he has taken to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
“We went from a president who prioritized American sovereignty to one who pledged fealty to a feckless and failing climate change pact and opened our borders,” said Steven Groves of the Heritage organization.
“In America, the people govern, the people rule, and the people are sovereign. As president of the United States, I will always put America first.” – President Trump
Sovereignty was important to former President Trump. I recall him saying it is what makes a nation a nation. How many Americans gave this much thought before Trump became president. The border made the news when a tunnel was discovered.
The border marks the place where one sovereignty ends and another begins. It isn’t just to mark territories, it’s where countries on either side exercise control over the movement of goods and people. It allows citizens on either side to distinguish itself, its identity, the way it wants to be known as a nation.
It was former President Trump, who saw the importance of controlling our southern border. Though controversial, he completed 450 miles of specially designed wall along the 2,000-mile Mexico-US border. Human and drug traffic was being controlled.
Last month, our Border Patrol encountered 180,000 illegal, foreign nationals. That’s more than the previous three Decembers combined. That should tell us about the success of control under the Trump administration.
In Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott gathered attorneys general from 12 states, telling them “Somebody has to hold the president (Biden) accountable for the abandonment of the rule of law in this country and it is up to all of the attorneys general. They came from as far away as Alaska and West Virginia.
Meanwhile, Biden is more interested in Ukraine’s sovereignty than our own.
And where’s the United Nations Security Council? We’re looking at a potential land war with Russia violating Ukraine’s sovereignty.
While Russia is contemplating action in Ukraine, and China appears to be testing our interest in protecting Taiwan, both viewing Biden as weak after botching the Afghanistan withdrawal, our confused president believes it’s a Fox White House reporter who is the “stupid son-of-a-bi**h.”
Now, more than ever … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
