Covet Your Mail-In Ballot as Long as Possible

Commentary

Although I took most of the weekend off, away from research and the keyboard, I want to caution readers who are in states where mail-in ballots are in play, to hold off on marking your ballot and mailing it only when you feel comfortable with your choices and secure in that your ballot will be received in time.

It appears that I am not alone in my concern for being aware of breaking news, aka “dirty tricks,” in the coming days.

So far, according to JMC Analytics & Polling, there have been 16.2 million early voting requests and just 2.04 million early votes cast.  In 2020, there were 73.5 million early voting requests and 7.55 million early votes cast 25 days before Election Day

October Surprises

The Democrat Party is known for its October surprises, as evidenced by the October 19, 2020 letter signed by 50 former intelligence officers declaring that the e-mails contained in Hunter Biden’s laptop had all the earmarks of Russian disinformation.

During his debate with Donald Trump on October 25, 2020, Joe Biden wrongly referenced the letter as proven evidence of Russian interference.  A number of Americans voted unaware of the Biden family corruption.

Journalism Integrity at Stake

The left-leaning Arizona Republic, in an attempt to shed the blame for the lack of integrity in 2020, splashed an opinion piece by its editorial board under the banner headline, “DEMOCRACY UNDER ATTACK,” across the entire front page, continuing over two inside pages.

“Honest Journalism” is what is under attack.  The paper’s exploitative piece failed to mention the FBI’s role in convincing the social and mainstream media from pursuing coverage of the Hunter-Biden laptop just prior to the 2020 election.

The FBI, our highest law enforcement agency, was therefore complicit in a real affront to democracy.

The Jan. 6 Committee

Then there’s last Thursday’s gathering of the Select Committee on Jan. 6, during which they announced its vote to subpoena former President Trump.

RINO Liz Cheney, the committee’s vice chair, condemned Trump during its June 16, 2022 session for his role in inciting the riot.  So why did they wait until just weeks prior to the midterms to vote to subpoena him?  It is simply another attempt to sour voters on Trump-endorsed candidates since Trump himself isn’t on the ballot.

For months I have been writing about the committee’s plan to drag out their “investigation” right up to Election Day.

Obama, the Forgotten Man

The Democrats are so desperate for campaign help in Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia that they called on former President Obama to help them close the gaps. Have they forgotten that it was Obama’s miserable record that paved the way for Donald Trump’s victory in 2016?

If you believe the polls, and I find it hard to do so, Rasmussen Reports revealed that Republicans have a 48 to 44 percent lead in Michigan, 46 to 42 percent in Wisconsin and a 50 to 39 percent in Georgia.

In other battleground states, Republicans have a 47 to 44 percent lead in Arizona, a 47 to 41 percent lead in Ohio, and a 48 to 43 percent in Pennsylvania.

In the generic poll, Republicans have a seven-point lead in their bid to recapture Congress.

It’s Still the Economy, Stupid

Surely, President Biden is aware of the New York Times/Sienna Group survey that revealed the economy and inflation were rated as the most important problems facing the country today, and that Republicans were favored by a two-to-one margin.

Yet, while campaigning in Oregon, he tried hard to avoid commenting on the economy, crime and the border, paused between licks on an ice cream cone to say, “The economy is strong as hell,” adding, “it’s worse everywhere else than it is in the United States.” Not true.

The Abortion Issue

While the leftist media would have you believe that Republican candidates are losing women voters on the abortion issue, Isaac Schorr, writing in National Review, says that Republicans hold an 18-point advantage with independent women.

The Cavalry is Coming

Larry Kudlow, former economics advisor to President Trump and the current host of Kudlow on the Fox Business Channel, often says, “the Cavalry is Coming,” meaning we Republican voters are charging to the polls to save America on November 8.  I hope I can count on your vote.

With less than three weeks remaining before the midterms, may God continue to bless the United States of America.
