Commentary
Some of you may recall my April 30, 2022 blog, “The Left’s Twisted View of Democracy and the Constitution,” in which I quoted former President Obama’s speech at Stanford.
I found it particularly interesting that former President Obama was called upon to stoke fear in the threat democracy is facing, I wrote then, and now the desperate Democrats have called him back for more fear mongering.
Wednesday night, President Biden did a reprise of his September 1, 2022 soul of the nation democracy speech in a Third Reichish-like appearance in front of the hideous red-lighted background of Independence Hall.
You have to wonder who thought it was a good idea to have Biden give his final midterm election speech in Washington DC’s Union Station, where a number of businesses have closed, making the shopping mall there more of a ghost town. And the tent city out front, a testament of his economic policy failure, had to be removed in advance of his appearance.
“Wait, wait, wait,” Tweeted Dana Perino, “They’re having him give a Hail Mary speech at the Union Station and THAT is the backdrop? This can’t be true.”
Biden’s speech was filled with more of the insult-laden remarks we have come to expect from the Biden with his overuse of “MAGA Republicans” and the “extreme right.” It was more divisive than ever.
He spoke of “the great irony about the 2020 election is that it’s the most attacked election in our history. And, yet, there’s no election that can be more certain of the results,” as he mentioned the unsuccessful recounts that were undertaken.
He went on, talking about those who continue to question the legitimacy of past elections, referring to their effort as the “Big Lie.”
Our legitimacy charge is not based on voter fraud. He clearly won with the vote, but it was the circumstances under which he was able to win.
We now know that his deep state supporters within the FBI kept the Hunter Biden laptop with its revealing e-mails under wraps since 2019, cautioned the leftist media of disinformation just days before the election.
As a result, numbers of Biden voters were unaware of the Biden family’s unseemly activity as they went to the polls.
That, Mr. President, is where the “illegitimacy” comes into play. Our “Big Lie” refers to how you were able to win.
Where We Stand
We’re just days from the midterm elections and we’re still being told by pundits that key swing state polls show Democrats leading within the margin of error. I just don’t buy it.
In less than two years, President Biden and his band of radical socialists have taken us down a path of economic ruin. A number of the candidates who have voted with Biden are either leading or in the lean Democrat column. Why, when more than 80 percent of Americans believe our country is on the wrong track with Biden&Co.
Among Biden water-carriers in the senate are Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, Georgia Sen. Ralph Warnock, New Hampshire Sen. Maggie Hassan and Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto.
Blake Masters, who has closed in on Kelly in recent weeks, could get a boost from voters who were supporting Libertarian Marc Victor, who dropped out of the race and has endorsed Masters.
But there are several Democrat challengers who have bought-in on Biden’s policies, like Mandela Barnes, who is challenging Republican stalwart Sen. Ron Johnson in Wisconsin, and John Fetterman who is going head-to-head with Dr. Memet Oz to fill the vacancy of retiring Sen. Pat Toomey.
Realizing how gas prices at the pump are a major economic issue for voters, Barnes is attempting to soften his extreme opposition to domestic energy production on Twitter, in which he said that “Oil is destroying the world in every possible way.”
Barnes also claimed that climate change is caused by capitalism, and suggested the solution to the climate crisis is “to stymie capitalism” in America.
Then there’s Fetterman, who, during his debate with Oz, refused to acknowledge that he had once voiced opposition to fracking. And, does anyone really believe he is U.S. Senate material?
Unbelievably, Pennsylvania’s Democrat Sen. Bob Casey, does. Appearing on NBC with Andrea Mitchell, after the Fetterman-Oz debate, Casey said, “Fetterman is prepared right now to be an effective senator.” Oh, my. Where is his integrity and ethics?
There are two senatorial races that aren’t getting much notice. Wouldn’t it be nice to see Alaska’s RINO Sen. Lisa Murkowski defeated by Republican Kelly Tschibaka, and Washington State’s Democrat Sen. Patty Murray taken down by Republican Tiffany Smiley?
While I am at it, I might as well tell you that I am pulling for the defeat of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan, Gov. Kathy Hocul and Rep. Jerry Nadler in New York, Sen. Dick Blumenthal in Connecticut and Oregon’s Gov. Tina Kotek.
The midterms are just days away … be sure you vote Republican if you are tired of the mess we are experiencing under Biden’s socialist administration.
And … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
