During my eight years in the Air Force, I learned about the importance of the wing-man, a pilot flying in formation who provides protection for the primary aircraft.
It was in 2013 that then Attorney General Eric Holder blew the cover of the role of attorney general being an independent arbiter as the top law enforcement official, when he boasted, “I’m the president’s wing-man, so I’m there with my boy,” speaking of then President Obama. Professing his allegiance to Obama, he added, “I’m still enjoying what I’m doing, there’s still work to be done.”
The following year, the House voted 255-67 to held Holder in contempt for refusing to turn over documents related to the DOJ’s response to Operation Fast and Furious, but a federal judge declined the House committee’s bid.
While the judge ruled that Holder broke the law in withholding subpoenaed documents, she cited that the House motion was “entirely unnecessary,” and ordered the documents released.
In an administration or in business, a wing-man role is given to an insider, someone the president or CEO can trust and count on.
I have recently written about President Biden’s denials of speaking with Attorney General Garland about any cases before the DOJ, suggesting that much is said behind closed doors or in private phone calls. It’s as laughable as Garland’s recent defense of the integrity of the DOJ.
Last November, Biden said that if Trump decides to run again, he will make sure Trump doesn’t take power. “We just have to demonstrate that he will not take power if he does run, making sure he – under legitimate efforts of our Constitution – does not become the next president again.”
Of course, we have seen the DOJ’s continuation of its unrelenting attack, flouting unprecedented charges against a former president who is Biden’s most likely challenger in 2024.
Is that what Biden had in mind when he said, Trump “will not take power … does not become the next president again?”
Knowing what we know today, with 495 days to go before Election Day 2024, I find it difficult to accept that the DOJ can continue to suppress evidence of Biden’s involvement in his son Hunter’s role as an influence peddler. We know of Hunter’s money laundering scheme designed to benefit the president, “the Big Guy,” and others in the Biden family.
Looking to 2024, Democrats like to talk of Biden having a record of beating Trump, and that he has a record of important legislation to run on.
They’re forgetting that Trump supporters are aware of the Democrat dirty tricks that helped Biden win in 2020. It wasn’t a clear victory. They also know that the Biden legislation, primarily in support of the Green New Deal chasing climate change, has done little to curb inflation and the cost of living.
Republicans can again ask, “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?”
Finally, this interesting sidebar I couldn’t pass up sharing with you.
“The real meaning of the Hunter Biden saga, as I see it,” wrote Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times, “isn’t about presidential corruption, but is about how widespread addiction is – and about a determined parent with unconditional love can sometimes reel a child back. That can give others hope.”
In response, writer Bonchie with the Red State blog, wrote: “The whole disowning their own granddaughter thing really shows the extent of Joe Biden’s unconditional love. Excellent take, Nicholas.”
May God continue to bless the United States of America as those who we trust work diligently to restore truth and integrity to justice.
