From My Stack of Stuff

Air Power for Peace

All caught up with the Michigan Wolverines taking the National Championship and the political dueling in Iowa and New Hampshire, the story of the testing of the first B-21 Raider stealth bomber wound up on my stack of stuff.

The initial B-21, one of six pre-production models the Air Force plans to acquire, has been making test flights out of Edwards Air Force Base in California since November, but only became known to the public recently.

“(The B-21 is) to provide survivable, long-range, penetrating strike capabilities to deter aggression and strategic attacks against the United States, allies, and partners,” according to the official Air Force release.

The bomber is slated to be based in South Dakota, Missouri, and Texas, replacing B-1Bs and B-2s currently stationed at those sites.

Meanwhile, the Air Force still flies more than 50 B-52 Stratofortresses, that have undergone significant upgrading, including new engines, since first introduced in 1952.

Wealth Redistribution

It’s  bad enough that U.S. taxpayers are forced to foot the bill for lodging, food, education, and health care for the millions of illegal migrants scattered across our country because of the Biden administration’s open-door policy at our southern border.

You won’t see it on CNN or MSNBC, but the number of migrants entering the U.S. in December alone equal the population of major cities like Detroit and Cincinnati.

But now, the UN has set a $2.7 billion fundraising goal for 2024 for “work on solutions to migrant displacement, and reducing the risks of climate change.”

What, you ask, does climate change have to do with migrant displacement?

Get this – the UN claims that in 2022, 84 percent of refugees and migrants seeking asylum fled from highly “climate-vulnerable” countries, but they were careful not to say they left their home countries because of climate change.

Regardless, U.S. taxpayers will be asked to contribute to the fund that will “work on saving lives and protecting people on the move, facilitating regular pathways for migration, and transforming the UN’s International Organization for Migration (IOM) to deliver services in a better, more effective way.

The fleecing continues, from climate change funding for underdeveloped countries in the Paris Accord to the migrant displacement of the MOI.

This has to stop.

Net Zero is Dying

Fellow blogger Francis Menton, in the Manhattan Contrarian, writes about Germany and the UK, two net zero zealot countries, that are seeing a slow, but steady decline, a gradual withering of economic activity and prosperity.

“High energy prices brought about by energy restrictions are driving industries out of business, and as good jobs disappear and energy prices increase, the people gradually get poorer,” wrote Menton.

“I hope that the U.S. can be rescued in time,” he concluded.

Biden Busted Again

We have become used to seeing President Biden with his prepared note cards as he sits with visiting dignitaries, but it got stranger during his recent meeting with U.S. mayors at the White House.

At least one photographer caught him holding what appears to be a script for the Q&A that followed.

How embarrassing.  Trump or Haley wouldn’t need prepared notes.

May God bless the United States of America.
