In and Around the Biden, Trump Campaigns

Commentary

WHAT, NO WATERMELON? – It’s understandable that President Biden feels the need to improve his image with blacks and young people, but his (or his handlers’) idea of bringing fried chicken to the North Carolina home for a chat with a black father and two sons was … racist? (only if Trump did it) … well, a bit “awkward,” as Karen Townsend wrote in HotAir.com.

He stopped at a popular local restaurant with North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper and delivered it to the home of Eric Fitts and his teenage sons, Christian and Carter, where they made small talk while eating fried chicken and milkshakes.  Well, not the Prez.  He ordered a hamburger for himself.

NBC host Kristen Welker is the latest in the left-leaning media to question the president’s mental health.  Meet the Press‘ Welker frequently pointed to voters’ low sentiment for the president while interviewing Minnesota’s Democrat Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

Mentioning the Hur Report and voter unhappiness with the economy, Welker asked if it may be time for Biden to “pass the torch.”

When Welker noted that Biden’s message on Bidenomics isn’t resonating with voters, Klobuchar responded with her belief that he is “leading the way in bringing down costs.”  But voters aren’t “feeling” the impacts of the numbers, according to Welker. “Voters don’t feel it, Senator.  Voters say, they don’t feel it.”

Reiterating that she was proud to be supporting Biden for president, Klobuchar said, “I’m a believer in President Biden because I believe he is a good, moral person that has the backs of the people of this country.”

Klobuchar conceded, “Okay, well there are many challenges in front of us and people ae going to have to decide if they want to go back to that chaos or look at someone that actually as the proof points of working on bringing costs down.”

No, Amy.  They’re going to look back at the four years of Trump’s presidency and compare it to the three and a half years of misery under Biden.

TALE OF THE MYSTERY BINDER – No, not Mitt Romney’s infamous binder containing the resumes of female job applicants submitted to him as governor of Massachusetts.  You may recall how the Obama campaign mocked Mitt’s binder as demeaning and insensitive toward women, after Romney mentioned it in the second debate of 2012.

The missing binder in question contained a collection of raw Russian intelligence that has disappeared in the January 2021 timeframe.  There’s concern over who might be exposed and implicated in the widespread abuses of intelligence authority during the 2015-2016 election season.

It is said to include the story of how a team “hand-picked” by then CIA director John Brennan relied on “cooked intelligence” to craft the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment.  Reportedly, it has been called “Trump’s insurance policy.”

SNEAKERS BY TRUMP – Former President Trump made a surprise appearance at Philadelphia’s “Sneaker Con” to launch a Trump-branded sneaker line.  “I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” he said, noting “for 12 years, 13 years.”

He also announced two additional sneakers, the “Red Wave” and “POTUS 45” in red and gray with white and gold variants, a “T” and “45” on the side. Both priced at $199.

FINALLY, ponder this – After the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis in 2021, during defund the police discussions, reportedly, there was an unrealistic suggestion that social workers could be sent to handle domestic disturbance issues rather than armed police.

This past Sunday evening, two policemen and a paramedic first responder were killed during a domestic call in the Twin Cities’ suburb of Burnsville, reminding voters of the seriousness of these calls.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
