The Truth Will Out

Commentary

“The truth will out” is an old saying that has undergone changes over the years. An early reference to the phrase comes from Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice” in 1596. Today, we are more inclined to say, “The truth will come out.”

Of course, it means that one can’t hide from the truth.  Your action will eventually be exposed if you try to keep a lie quiet; and when you try to cover it up, that is often when the truth comes out.

The Truth About January 6, 2020

Facts about the partisan Democrat effort to impeach former President Trump for incitement of insurrection for his role in the riot and breach of the Nation’s Capitol are beginning to surface, thanks to the effort of Georgia’s Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk, chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight.

You may recall that then Speaker Nancy Pelosi selected the members of the House to serve on the Jan. 6 Select Committee, refusing to include Republicans recommended by Keven McCarthy, instead named two RINOs, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

After a year of investigating, interviewing about a thousand witnesses and reviewing 140,000 documents, the committee staged a kind of mini-series for TV featuring cherry-picked videos used by James Goldston, a former ABC News producer, hired to produce the desired effect. Some $18 million was spent on the biased account of Jan. 6.

When it was all over, Attorney General Merrick Garland selected Jack Smith as special counsel to indict Trump. Conveniently, while Trump is facing four counts in the Jan. 6 case being investigated by Smith, Loudermilk has collected evidence against the infamous partisan Jan.6 committee

I recall the disappointment a New York Times reporter conveyed when Smtih unsealed the indictment in August of 2023, that there was no count that directly accused Trump of being responsible for the violence on Jan. 6.

The Democrat Jan. 6 committee left a disorganized mess for Loudermilk to produce the Republican side of the Capitol breach.  Knowing Republicans were going to tell their side, they lost or destroyed records, evidence and transcripts, and video depositions of a number of individuals, despite the fact that McCarthy had ordered them to preserve all materials.

“The American people have a right to know that the allegations you have made are supported by the facts,” he wrote.  That didn’t happen, despite Cheney’s vow that they would pass all materials into the custody of the National Archives.

The truth will come out.

In a major revelation a few days ago, Loudermilk announced that he had secured video footage from HBO shot by Pelosi’s daughter Alexandra, a documentarian, taken as the pair rushed to evacuate the Capitol.

As the pair, with Pelosi’s chief of staff Terri McCullough, were in an SUV headed for Fort McNair, a gathering point for legislators, Pelosi said, “You’re going to ask me – in the middle of the thing when they’ve already breached the inaugural stuff – should we call the National Guard?  Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?”

Although there were early reports of potential protests, Pelosi and Washington DC Mayor Bowser were concerned over the “optics” of the Guard at the Capitol, in the video footage Pelosi says, “We have responsibility, Terri.”

Of course, the left-leaning Politico reported that the request made to HBO was made as “Republicans were pushing to undermine the findings of the previous Jan. 6 select committee.”  No, not undermine – reveal the truth.

The often-disputed fact regarding Trump requesting the National Guard prior to the breach was confirmed by Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, national security advisor to Vice President Pence.

The truth will come out.

Smith’s Appointment Questioned

Attorney General Garland’s appointment of Jack Smtih was unconstitutional, according to Steven Calabresi, professor of law at Northwestern University and co-chair of the Federalist Society, stating that he therefore lacks standing to defend the order of the D.C. Circuit.

He argues that under the Constitution only Congress can create the office of special counsel to which Smith was appointed.

Smith was also given the case involving Trump’s retaining of documents, some classified, at Mar-A-Lago.  Judge Aileen Cannon is planning a hearing on Trump’s request to declare Smith’s appointment invalid.

There have been a number of delays so far, and the Supreme Court is now considering a ruling on immunity.  Stay tuned.  The truth will out.

While on the Subject of Truth

Even though Hunter Biden’s laptop had been authenticated years ago, FBI agent Erica Jensen testified at the recent trial that she had seen no evidence of tampering with the data on the laptop.

It’s time those 51 former intelligence officers, who signed the October 20, 2020 letter claiming the laptop contents as reported by the New York Post had all the earmarks of Russian disinformation, fessed up to election interference.  Biden used that letter in the debate to defuse Trump’s charges.  Fat chance.

There’s More to Come

Joe’s lies that he knows nothing about Hunter’s business dealings will soon be revealed as such when Hunter faces the tax charges in California in September.

The truth will come out.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
