July 1 Fool’s Day Honors
It would be easy to simply name President Biden as the recipient of my July Fool’s Day honors, but as I thought about my approach to this edition of my blog, I am awarding it to the liars and sycophants – journalists, pundits, White House staffers, Jill Biden, and others; you know who you are – who, for four years, have unashamedly provided cover for him.
Accountability
It’s one thing to be supportive of a candidate that you respect for a myriad of reasons, from his character and experience to his ability to perform, but what we have seen in the support of President Biden’s reelection is a downright cover-up.
Since Biden’s disastrous performance in last week’s debate, there has been a wave of shock from members of the media, pundits, and donors. They followed his every moment on every trip and attended meetings with him. When those of us on the right raised doubt in his fitness to do the job, they covered for him. They even accused us of faking the videos of his missteps.
But now, from the left-leaning New York Times to the mouthpieces on the leftist television networks and a plethora of publications and social media, they’re calling for him to drop out of the race, as if they weren’t a part of the cabal promoting him all along. They succeeded in persuading Dems that he was the real deal. They stand to be disenfranchised if he pulls out of the race now.
At least the Wall Street Journal had the guts to publish, “Behind Closed Doors, Biden Shows Signs of Slipping,” but they took heavy criticism from other media in doing so.
Remember, they all bought-in on the tale peddled by the 51 former intelligence officers, who helped Biden in 2020 with their belief that the content of Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian misinformation.
Mark Levin, who hosts Life, Liberty and Levin on Fox News Chanel, and Howard Kurtz, who anchors Media Buzz on Fox News Channel, the only televised program covering the media, were highly critical of the media cover up.
While the Kramerontheright archives show consistent coverage of Biden’s ineptness, I have chosen to quote Bari Weiss, who many of you may have never heard of.
Weiss has written for the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, but last year was asked by Elon Musk to join Matt Taibbi in dissecting the files of Twitter for public consumption.
She has since founded The Free Press online, a new media company built on ideals that were once the bedrock of American journalism.
It was her headline, “They Knew,” that stopped me. She exposed the media in just two words. For that reason, I took the liberty of using her headline and including her opening comments.
“Rarely are so many lies dispelled in a single moment. Rarely are so many people exposed as liars and sycophants. Last night’s debate was a watershed on both counts.
“But it was more than that. It was a catastrophe for an entire class of experts, journalists, and pundits, who have, since 2020, insisted that Biden was sharp as a tack, on top of his game, basically doing handstands while peppering his staff with tough questions about care for migrant children and aid to Ukraine.
“Anyone who committed the sin of using their own eyes on the 46th president was accused, variously, of being Trumpers; MAGA cult members who don’t want American democracy to survive.”
Weiss reminded her readers of the Hur report, in which he considered against recommending charges because “a jury would likely view him as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
After watching Biden in the debate, we can understand why Attorney General Garland denied public access to the five hours of audio tapes of the Biden Interviews questioning his retention of classified documents in his home and other locations.
Biden’s performance hasn’t stopped Jill …
… who guided the president into an Atlanta Waffle House where a post-debate party was being held. Jill grabbed the mic and gushed, “Joe, you did such a great Job. You answered every question. You knew all the facts.”
And it Didn’t Stop Joe …
… who, the next day, told a rally audience, “Folks, I don’t walk as easy as I used to. I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to. But I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth.”
Then How Do You Explain …
… after repeated denials despite evidence, in particular his 2023 insistence to Fox’s Peter Doocy, that he was “never in business with my son … I never talked business with anybody.” A lie.
And, in the Debate …
… you said you were “the only president this century and this decade not to have any troops dying anywhere in the world,” failing to remember the 13 fallen service members killed during his flawed Afghanistan withdrawal. A lie.
The Democrat machine is in chaos with just 49 days until the convention in Chicago.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
