About the So-Called ‘Peaceful’ Protest in Los Angeles

Commentary

When I selected the accompanying Los Angeles riot photos for this segment, I was reminded of the 2020 photo of CNN National Correspondent Omar Jimenez reporting from Kenosha, Wisconsin, referring to the “mostly peaceful” protests there while fires raged behind him.

It was about the same time then Senator Kamala Harris, appearing on the CBS “Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, while speaking of the protests for racial justice in the wake of George Floyd’s s death, said, “This is a movement I’m telling you. They’re not gonna stop.  They’re not gonna stop before Election Day in November and they’re not going to stop after Election Day.  They’re not going to let up, and they should not, and we should not.”

Meanwhile, she devoted an entire blog begging people to donate money to bail out the rioters, posting a link to the Minnesota Freedom Fund.

Harris is back on the political scene, having learned nothing.  In a post on “X”, she claimed to be “appalled” by what was happening on the streets of Los Angeles, referring to it as “overwhelmingly peaceful,”

The left was quick to blame the rioting on President Trump, from Chuck Shumer and Hakiem Jeffries in Washington to Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy, who it is assumed thought he could bolster his chances for president in 2028 by commenting on MSNBC with Mika Brzezinski and Jen Psaki.

When Murphy and others declared, “we were doing fine before Trump’s troops showed up,” it was an obvious lie. “ICE agents were under siege,” wrote Brandon Morse of RedState, “and California politicians were practically giddy about it; thus, the riots spun out of control.”

A cocky Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass were among the blame throwers, with the governor demanding he be arrested. SEIU California President David Huerta was, for interfering with federal officers.

Hundreds of “protestors” became thousands of “rioters,” showing up with matching t-shirts and professionally printed signs, believed to be funded by CHIRLA and the Party for Socialism and Liberation, two NGOs that get their money from taxpayers.  During an audit in 2023, CHIRLA reported taking in $34 million from various government contracts in addition to noting that 96 percent of their funding came from the State of California.

CHIRLA claims to “advance justice and full inclusion for all immigrants.”

When it comes to taxpayer funding of NGOs, this is just the tip of the iceberg.  Fox’s Laura Ingraham recently reported NGOs garnered billions of dollars from government contracts during the Biden administration to facilitate the needs of immigrants.  In the process, CEOs of these groups are taking in massive salaries.

Looking Back

The headline, “Democrats Dug Their J6 Grave, Now Trump Can Bury Them,” over a piece in Daily Caller by Natalie Sandoval, caught my eye.  Regular readers may recall that I was critical of the damage assessed to our Nation’s Capitol building during the January 6 breach by protestors.  Critical, because the leftist media failed to compare the damage to cities like Minneapolis in 2020, all for social justice in the name of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter.

A major section of Minneapolis was in flames as some 1,500 businesses were damaged more than $500 million. Most of that area is still boarded up.  No flames damaged our Capitol, where broken windows and doors and pieces of furniture made up most of the damage.

In her comparison of riots, Sandoval wrote of Kamala Harris referred to the January 6 protestors participating in a “violent assault” by “insurrectionists” in a series of her posts on “X.”   In LA, she noted how Harris now wants to blame Trump for this riot, saying ridiculously that Trump’s mobilization of the National Guard “was a dangerous escalation meant to provoke chaos.” Really? Why would he want to do that?

What the talking heads seem to, or want to, forget that the LA riot began with a hundred or so protestors who opposed the deportation efforts of ICE, who were following presidential orders to remove illegal bad actors in a city and state where illegals are believed to have sanctuary.  They do not.

They also seem to forget that more than 80 percent of Americans elected Trump to office because he promised to rid of us of the millions of illegals by deporting them.

May God continue to bless the United State
