Trump: A Man of Action, a Doer, not a Talker

Commentary

Just when I was preparing to express my disappointment with fellow Americans who complain about President Trump for taking action on something he earlier told us he was going to do and he does it again and the haters couldn’t help themselves. There was the successful hit on Iran, and now a successful raid in Venezuela.

The Inevitable Mission

First there were those who were outraged over our sinking of drug-laden boats heading for our shores from Venezuela.  Questioning the legality of doing so and reflecting pity on the drug runners killed in the process.

Followed by our armada of ships in the Caribbean.  How obvious.

Now, with the successful capture of Nicholas Maduro and his wife during a precision night-time multi-agency raid, the president is again under fire for not cluing in Congress before ordering the attack.

GALLEGO

Sadly, it is Democrat Ruben Gallego, who now joins Sen. Mark Kelly in bringing embarrassment to the state of Arizona.

Writing @RubenGallego, he stated: “This war is illegal, it’s embarrassing that we went from the world cop to the world bully in less than a year.  There is not reason for us to be a war with Venezuela.”

But we are not at war with Venezuela. The secret raid was one of law enforcement utilizing the intelligence, talents and equipment of our warriors.

And, while a regime change will be in Trump’s future for ensuring a friendly government to restore the country to its former greatness, regime change was not the purpose of the mission as the left likes to claim.

When asked if he as a legal analyst viewed this operation as lawful, Georgetown University law professor Jonathan Turley, said “yes,” while he has a strong preference for congressional authorization and consultation.

“The courts have previously upheld the authority of presidents to seize individuals abroad, including the purported heads of state,” said Turley, who believes that this case is stronger in many respects than the one involving Noriega.

The “old Washington” types in Washington don’t like Trump’s idea of running the country “until such time we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition.”  As usual, I believe they’re reading too much into that statement.  Yes, it’s Trump who can deal with the oil firms to not only restore their capacity to provide oil, but to help put the country back on a firmer economic foundation.

VENEZUELANS CELEBRATE IN DORAL, FLA.

As I watched the celebration of Venezuelans who fled their country and now make Doral, Florida home, I wondered if there were former Caracas businessmen and women who would like to return to help rebuild the country. Trump’s staff could put out feelers and begin a vetting process.

Admiring the celebrations taking place in Doral, Santiago, Chile and Madrid, Spain, I couldn’t but help compare them to the sad protests by the so-called Democratic Socialists in New York City.  I ask again – who’s paying for those demonstrations?

PROTEST IN NEW YORK

While Mayor Mamdani claims New York is home to tens of thousands of Venezuelans, the lack of flag-waving as seen in celebrations elsewhere were not visible in the big apple.

I wonder, will the New Yorkers who bought into Mamdani’s vision for their city, turn on him as some seem to be doing prematurely on Trump?

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
