Commentary
Connecticut has its two Democrat Senators Murphy and Blumenthal, and so does Virginia with Tim Keane and Mark Warner, all afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome, always ready to respond negatively to President Trump’s Truth social media messages or executive orders. The leftist news anchors at CNN and MS NOW know who to call for comment.
In Arizona we also have two Democrat Senators, Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego. Both pathetic. And always ready to insult Trump.
On a number of occasions, I have been critical of Kelly and Gallegos, and appropriately so.
How do you respect the judgement of a senator who claimed Eric Swalwell as his best friend. Having heard rumors of Swalwell’s sexual misconduct, he didn’t look into them before endorsing him for governor.

Gallego now claims Swalwell manipulated him. “Eric knew exactly what he was doing,” said Gallego in a news conference. While telling reporters how his family and Swalwell’s family got together for dinner and cared for each other’s children, he chalked up the rumors of Swalwell merely being “flirty.”
One might also question his judgement in referring to the U.S -Israeli joint attacks on Iran as “disgusting,” a word I would have used to describe the Obama-Biden Iran strategy of kicking the can down the road.
The Obama administration acknowledged that its transfer of $1.7 billion to Iran earlier this year was made entirely in cash, using non-U.S. currency, as Republican critics of the transaction continued to denounce the payments, noting at the time that the initial $400 million tranche arrived on pallets.
Obama boasted that this was evidence of “what’s possible with strong American diplomacy, citing a comprehensive nuclear deal and the corresponding lifting of waivers of a vast array of international sanctions on Tehran.
Foolishly, Gallego believed that Trump made the decision to attack Iran without careful consideration, as if the Trump administration suddenly thought, ‘Hey, this would be a good day to attack Iran.’ Instead, he referred to Trump’s decision as “an absolute abdication of leadership.”
Gallego’s latest gambit is his support of a bill that would apply an additional 10 percent tax to the wealthiest earners in a feeble attempt to address the income gap between wealthy and average American workers. He’s fallen for the “fair share” declaration of Bernie Sanders.
Then there’s Kelly. He claimed to be concerned about illegal immigration, but had no sway with Biden.
Kelly took to the Senate floor alongside Republican and Democratic colleagues to emphasize the importance of tackling the crisis at the southern border but emphasized the need to provide providing Dreamers with a pathway to citizenship.
Kelly’s appearance in a video with five other lawmakers telling our troops they “can refuse illegal orders,” was an outright effort to attack Trump. He knows that the troops like Trump. The Pentagon viewed the message as potentially harmful to “loyalty, morale, or good order and discipline.”
Although five other lawmakers appeared in the video, Kelly, with his high profile, stood alone as the subject of the review because the Department of Defense determined he remains under UCMJ jurisdiction as a retired Navy captain.
Recently, Kelly saw another path to criticize Trump, blasting his diplomatic team of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, despite their recent negotiating successes. “You can’t send two real estate developers to negotiate a peace with another region,” Kelly declared at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network Convention in New York City.
“I’m thinking, you could pick a random group of people off the street tonight here in Washington, D.C. — just a random group — and they could probably do a better job than our government is doing right now with this,” Kelly said during an appearance on MS NOW with Jen Psaki.
He parrots the claims of others on the left that Trump went to war “without a plan, without a timeline, without an exit strategy.”
Kelly went on to predict “a long war with a lot of dead American.” Oh my.
I hope my fellow Arizonans are paying attention to these publicity seeking Senators, Kelly and Gallegos, who are said to be considering presidential runs.
Looking ahead, Kelly’s already courting the teachers unions by trying to repeal a federal school-choice tax credit. In doing so, he ignores taxpayers who can get a credit up to $1,700 for donations to scholarship organizations that fund tuition for children to attend the school of their choice.
Incidentally, the scholarships can also pay for tutoring or other services for students in traditional public schools.
Kelly knows better, claiming the scholarships “take money out of public schools and give to private ones, but as the Wall Stret Journal pointed out, “(It) looks like a flat-out pander to the country’s two main teachers unions,” which the Journal said it “prepares Kelly for a likely run for president.”
Those two unions also want to kill Arizona’s popular education savings accounts (ESAs) used by more than 100,000 children in the state. The Arizona Education Association is working to get a measure on the ballot to cripple ESAs with regulations and a $150,000 household income cap on eligibility.
Lastly, don’t forget Kelly still carries water on the Second Amendment for his wife, Gabby Giffords.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
