Skunked

 Commentary

While it’s hard to top President Obama’s choice of “shellacking” and President George W. Bush’s use of “thumping” following their midterm losses, I chose “skunked,” because it not only conveys an overwhelming loss, it covers an accompanying stench.

There was the stench of the same name dirty trick by Democrat Mary Peltola’s campaign for Senate in Alaska, and the shameless victory statement by Michigan’s socialist Muslim candidate for Senate, Abdul El-Sayed

When a gracious victory statement is normally expected, El-Sayed, smiling broadly, addressed his opponent Mike Rogers with, “Mike enjoy your retirement. I know you got a house in Florida and two yachts. See, you chose hate. And Michigan chose hope. May we never have to see the likes of you in this state again.”

He went on to address Vice President Vance with, “there is this delicious irony in the fact that you’re constitutionally obligated to swear me in January.”

He then turned his attention to Trump: “Donald, I know you struggle with my name, so after JD swears me in in January, you can go on and call me Senator.”

In defeat, though not officially on the ballot, President Trump said he felt bad for the Republicans that lost Tuesday night because losing is a “tough thing,” but added “congratulations to the Democrats, they did a good job, and I look forward to working with you for the good of our country,” saying, he could work with Democrats on “many things.”

Count on this blog to follow the activities of Republicans and the several facets on the left.
