Garland Reminds Us Again How We Dodged a Bullet

Commentary

As Attorney General Merrick Garland spoke of the criticism of the Justice Department on Friday as an “attack on democracy,” following reports that his agency had ignored the IRS recommendation to charge Hunter Biden with felony crimes, I was reminded of how America dodged a bullet in 2016, when a dogged Sen. Mitch McConnell blocked Garland’s nomination to the Supreme Court.

I won’t go through the criticism from the left. Suffice it to say that it lead to former President Trump’s nomination of three conservatives to the Supreme Court and many more to lower courts, including 30 in the U.S courts of appeals-all lifetime appointments.

GARLAND UNSUCCESSFULLY DEFENDING THE INTEGRITY OF DOJ (New Yorker)

Back to Garland.  As I have written several times, it is unlawful to lie to Justice, the FBI, but it is permissible for our top law enforcement officials to lie at will.  You may recall the lying of disgraced FBI officials James Comey and Andy McCabe, but last week, Garland was caught lying.

After telling Congress that Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who has been investigating Hunter Biden, had full authority to pursue the investigation and could do whatever he wished on the case.

However, when Weiss wanted to charge the president’s son in Washington D.C., U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves would not permit him to do so.

When questioned about this, Garland responded with, “I don’t know how it would be possible for anybody to block him from bringing a prosecution.  Some choose to attack the integrity of the Justice Department by claiming that we do not treat cases alike.  This constitutes an attack on an institution that is essential to American democracy.  Nothing could be further from the truth.”

Perhaps he intended to say leftist progressive democracy.

White House spokesman John Kirby chose to leave the podium when James Rosen pursued the story.  At least Karine Jean-Pierre would have held her ground, suggesting he go to the DOJ for a response as she passes the buck.

Two IRS agents, came forward to confirm that Garland is a liar and that the entire investigation into Hunter Biden’s wrongdoing has been tainted by favoritism and political machinations.  IRS agent Gary Shapley’s lawyer confirmed that while his client is still employed by the IRS, he was removed from the Hunter Biden investigation.

Hmmmm. It appears that the weaponization within the Biden administration has spread from the Justice Department and the FBI to the Treasury Department and the IRS.

A Tie to the “Big Guy”

Little thought was given to the July 30, 2017 photo published of Hunter Biden behind the wheel of the president’s 1967 Corvette Stingray in Wilmington, Delaware, but now it serves to confirm the content of a WhatsApp message he sent that day to Henry Zhao, who was with the Chinese energy conglomerate CEFE Energy, believed to be linked to Chinese military intelligence:

HUNTER BIDEN AT WHEEL OF DAD’S CORVETTE (Washington Examiner)

“Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight.  And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. All too often people mistake kindness for weakness – and all too often I am standing over top of them saying I warned you.  From this moment until he reaches me. I am sitting here waiting for a call with my father. I sure hope whatever it is you are doing is very important.”

Although it isn’t clear whether the Biden’s received a call from their Chinese counterparts that day, the Washington Beacon revealed that Hunter Biden did send a note to Zhao on August 2, 2017, in which he said, “my family sends their best wishes and looks forward to playing some golf when the director has time.

Zhao followed up by extending his “best regards to you, Jim and the VP,” references to the president and his brother.

Despite meetings attended by President Biden with his son’s partners, including one attended with Tony Bobulinski in Los Angeles in May 2017 and another with Rob Walker at the Washington Four Seasons on December 8, 2020, the president insists he has not discussed his son’s business dealings.

So, while their appears be an urgency in nailing former President Trump for mishandling documents, the revelations pointing to President Biden as the “Big Guy,” who has received millions of dollars in Hunter Biden’s money-laundering scheme, are being slow-walked.

Meanwhile, life goes on in Washington DC. Garland, along with Hunter, James and Ashley BIden, who are alleged to have taken access money, were invited to the state dinner for India’s Prime Minister Modi as if there was no issue of a family corruption.

May God continue to bless the United States of America and those whistleblowers with the courage to speak up.
