Anyone who is anyone in Washington knows that Iran is the biggest funder of terrorism, yet President Biden, who undoubtedly knows that too, again showed his weakness after the dastardly attack by Hamas on Israel, with his warning to Iran, a milquetoast “be careful.”
Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, and Pentagon spokesman John Kirby, all know of Iran’s complicity in the attack, but they too were unwilling to state it. “We don’t have any direct evidence of that,” said Kirby.
As Sergeant Schultz of Hogan’s Heroes used to say, “I know nassing.?
Iran needs to be sternly confronted with a statement of severe consequences should their proxy, Hamas, harm one finger of an American held hostage in Gaza. They need to be released immediately, and forget any hope for ransom money.
We Americans knew something else. Joe Biden’s record in foreign policy was a disaster and yet we elected him president.
“I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades,” former Defense Secretary Robert Gates said of Vice President Biden in 2014.
His inaugural address was one of weakness. Rather than the peace through strength message of President Reagan, Biden told us “We will not lead by the example of our power, but by the power of our example.” In other words, appeasement.
While Americans generally want to hear an optimistic, uplifting message in the inaugural address, the rest of the world – especially the bad actors – needed to get the message of a strong president at the helm.
When he promised to “repair our alliances and engage with the world once again,” he signaled to the world that the firm policies of the Trump administration would be reversed and playing nice with each other was his goal.
He voiced no concern over international terrorism. Instead, he fabricated concern for domestic terrorism, white supremacy and systemic racism, climate change, social justice and inequities and our fragile democracy, stating it will be a “time of testing.”
It wasn’t long before he was tested in Afghanistan. The withdrawal was botched when he refused to listen to his generals. It wasn’t long before he would be tested around the world – China and Taiwan, Russia and Ukraine – while he again opened nuclear talks with Iran.
Today, “Our 80-year-old president can barely walk across a stage or complete a sentence, let alone project strength on the global stage,” noted Dan McLauglin in National Review, and his warning to Iran with Hamas in Gaza is “be careful.”
A far cry from Trump’s warning to North Korea that if ballistic missile launches continued into the waters around Guam, Pyongyang would be met with “fire and fury.” Later, Trump became the first sitting president to visit North Korea.
Trump’s Inaugural
Trump’s inaugural address left no question in the minds of terrorists, and within minutes he issued his “America First Foreign Policy” manifesto, declaring the defeat of “ISIS and other radical Islamic terror groups will be our highest priority.”
Not only did he withdraw us from the flawed nuclear agreement with Iran, while reinstating sanctions. he withdrew us from the European money-grubbing Paris Accord on climate change.
Notably, he authorized the killing of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the self-proclaimed leader of the Islamic state and Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards.
Has anyone informed Biden that the supreme leader of Hamas is enjoying the comforts of a posh resort in Qatar?
There are those who say that Russia would not have attacked Ukraine, and Hamas would not have attacked Israel if Trump were president. We just don’t know, but the Trump era was rather peaceful, and Trump projected a firm hand.
Of course, we do know those millions of illegals would not have freely crossed our southern border under Trump. Because of Biden’s open-door policy, we have no knowledge of how many of the 1.5 million gotaways now roaming our country are national security threats.
Weakness Detected
Before the onslaught of illegals crossing over our border, Vice President Harris, with her assignment to manage the border, said, “I believe if you come to our border, you will be turned back.”
Were they, or were they not turned back? They were not.
With Gaza in mind, I thought I would remind you that nearly 200 individuals on the terrorist watch list have been stopped at our southern border, including two from Lebanon last week. How many were not stopped? How many were among the 1.5 million gotaways?
We know they came with an invitation from our weak president. Thanks, Joe.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
