In my Jan. 7, post on ObamaCare, I expressed concern over the Supreme Court’s willingness to decide in support of the law for fear that its decision would be catastrophic. The Court is considering the legality in paying billions of dollars in subsidies to some six million people through the federal exchange.
As expected, the Obama administration has begun its “sky is falling” campaign. Appearing before the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday, HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell feared the Court’s decision could “be devastating …”
While she declined to inform the Committee whether the administration would come to Congress to ask for corrective action, or if she had the authority to implement a fix, the House again voted to repeal the flawed program. The GOP is working on replacement provisions should the Court do its duty.
Look for the White House to expand its fear-mongering over the Court’s potential decision between now and June, when the decision is to be announced.
