Dems Making Fools of Themselves, Fake Polls Revealed, Feds Arrest Illegal Voters, Trouble Among Muslims, and Trump on a High; What More Could You Hope for Nearing the Midterms?

                                                           Commentary

James Carville, former Bill Clinton strategist and one of the media’s favorite “go to’s” for political comment, has openly admitted he has “Trump Derangement Syndrome” (TDS), calling it a “horrific, consuming disease” and saying he wants it to get worse.

CARVILLE

In a recent appearance on Politico’s YouTube channel, Carville embraced the label that some critics, including comedian Bill Maher, have used to describe his intense fixation on President Trump.  He said: “I got it, and I want it, and I want it to get worse. If I could take a pill that would help me hate (him) more and obsess on him more, I would take that pill,” describing TDS as an obsession with Trump.

Trump hater, Connecticut’s Sen. Chris Murphy is the latest Democrat to make a fool of himself, saying “the Senate needs ‘more people’ like Abdul El-Sayed.

After meeting with El-Sayed, Murphy praised the Michigan Democratic Senate nominee’s focus on working-class issues and did not rule out campaigning with him.

As if Minnesota’s Somalian Rep. Ilan Omar didn’t have enough trouble these days, she’s scheduled to appear with antisemite Hasan Piker on October 26, 2026.

SLOTKIN

Then there’s Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin, who crossed the line from political criticism into a threat that borders on Senatorial ethics.

She said young professionals should be deterred from joining the Trump administration, suggesting they may open themselves to potential subpoenas when the Democrat pursue charges against Trump and his staff should they win back the Senate.

The Polls

By now you no doubt have heard about the fake polling of Wedgewood. I confess I never heard of the firm until they recently fessed up to fabricating election polling for the 2026 midterms Senate polls.

Having cautioned my readers about the polls in the past, I was happy to see that Larry Sabato reminded his Crystal Ball readers of the 2024 Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll, spearheaded by  pollster Ann Selzer, showing Kamala Harris leading Trump by three points.  Trump ultimately won by 13.2 points.

“Besides receiving national news coverage, this poll had a significant impact on the expectations of Iowans themselves.

“Such dramatic public findings, which this Iowa Poll represents, can mislead voters and undermine trust in the polling enterprise itself.”

I had to laugh when I read Jess Bidgood’s column in the New York Times, in which her political leaning was clear as she cited the poll from the Times /Siena University poll as “ominous news” for Republicans with Trump at the lowest approval rating of any president before a midterm election since the dawn of modern polling.

I laughed because Bidgood’s colleague, Ruth Igielnik, a polling editor for the Times, informed her that “the only people less popular than Trump are Democrats.

Illegal Voting and Registration

MUNOZ handcuffed

Twenty-eight immigrants from across California are facing federal charges that they illegally registered to vote or vote in California elections.  It’s the Trump administration’s latest effort to imply California election rolls are riddled with fraudulent voters.

Omar Alexander Munoz, 72, a Belizean national from Commerce, allegedly registered in 2019, voted in 2020, twice in 2022 and in 2024 and lied on his naturalization application.

Trump on Campaign Trail

Not arguing whether or not that he’s on the ballot as some insist, Trump is drawing huge crowds as he touts his accomplishments while asking voters to vote for his candidates. Candidates who will help him in his last two years.

My View

Polls or not, I find it hard to believe the races are as close as stated by pundits, but I encourage you to vote, by mail or in person.  It was encouraging to hear one woman, who waited in line for an hour and a half, commenting who she felt about her civic duty.

We need the House and the Senate to carry out Trump’s America first agenda.
