Eldon R. Kramer had an extensive communications and public affairs career during 43 years in the aerospace industry as an executive with the former Sperry Flight Systems and Honeywell Aerospace prior to his retirement in 2000.
In his last assignment as Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs for Honeywell Aerospace, Kramer was responsible for directing communications and public affairs activities of business entities in Phoenix, Albuquerque, Minneapolis and Clearwater.
Kramer was elected to serve as the Chairman of the Communications Council of the Washington DC-based Aerospace Industries Association, a trade organization (1995-1996).
Working out of the Phoenix headquarters, Kramer was actively involved in community affairs for Honeywell, and served as Chairman of Valley Forward Association (1994); President of Arizona Women’ Education and Employment (1991); President of Children’s Action Alliance (1992-1994); President, Phoenix Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees (1995-1999); and Vice President of the Clara Barton Society, American Red Cross (1996).
He also served in a board capacity on the Governor’s Task Force on Runaway and Homeless Youth (1990); Valley of the Sun United Way (1999-2000) ; Cox Communications Community Advisory Board (1996-1999); and Maricopa County Community Colleges Foundation (1999 -2002).
Kramer began his career in public affairs during an eight-year stint in the U. S. Air Force. After his discharge he served as Sr. Public Information Officer in the Job Corps organization before beginning his career in the aerospace industry with Lear Siegler Inc.
Since retiring he has devoted much of his time to writing on political issues primarily for newspapers in San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country. In June 2014, however, he relocated to Scottsdale, AZ where he continues to write op-eds on conservative issues and posts for this blog.
