Here are a few observations on some items in the news.
DRIP, DRIP, DRIP, the conspiracy within the FBI is slowly being uncovered. Former deputy director Andrew McCabe may have resigned at the coaxing of director Christopher Wray, but we now learn that McCabe will be singled out in the up-coming inspector general report for authorizing leaks to the media and giving misleading statements to investigators
WHILE THE MEDIA TALKS ABOUT CHAOS in the White House, we have a president who is more engaged in matters of public interest – jobs, immigration, school security, opioid control, and fair trade – than any previous modern-day president. And they fail to report on consumer confidence, increasing wages and record unemployment.
THERE’S FRAUD IN D.C. HIGH SCHOOLS, TOO – That figures, doesn’t it? @PeterJamison tweeted “D.C.’s high school graduation rate is poised to drop from 73% to 42% this year after reassessment of student records following revelations of wide-spread graduation fraud.”
TO THAT, @JasonElevations tweeted, “One of the highest per-pupil spending districts in the country.” That figures, too.
THE DAILY CALLER reports that not a single CNN program cracked the top 20 for viewers in weekday cable news in February. Anderson Cooper 360 did manage to gain the 24th spot. CNN’s prime time ratings have dropped 30 percent from the same time last year. Fox News Channel programs captured seven of the top 10 programs, and 15 of the top 20.
DOES CNN BELIEVE A LIAR WILL BOOST VIEWERSHIP? – Why else would you bring in former CIA chief John Brennan for an interview, except to continue their unrelenting attack on the Trump presidency. He predicted “rough waters ahead” on international issues because “(President Trump is) unstable, inept, inexperienced, and also unethical.”
In addition to saying the president was “ill-prepared” to take on the duties of commander-in-chief,” particularly with the growing aggression from Russia and North Korea. Brennan seems to be suffering from amnesia, since former President Obama’s record of dealing with Putin and Kim Jong Un was pathetic.
In 2011, Brennan said there had not been “a single collateral death” from a CIA drone strike because of their “exceptional proficiency (and) proficiency.” It was determined that the strike killed 42 Pakistanis, mostly civilians, and Brennan had lied.
Brennan, it is believed, leaked documents himself to suit his needs, and fed the public “wildly inaccurate details about the Osama bin Laden raid in 2011.
Under Brennan’s watch, the CIA unconstitutionally spied on Congress by hacking into Senate Intelligence Committee computers, reflecting a tremendous failure of leadership. After hearing the inspector general’s findings in 2014, Democrat Sen. Mark Udall said, “I have no choice but to call for the resignation of CIA director John Brennan.”
All this, and he has the chutzpah to say President Trump is unstable, inept, inexperienced and unethical. The unhinged Brennan is part of the Obama deep state, willing to do and say anything (lie) in an effort to bring down the Trump presidency.
One thing is evident – he is aiding in the downfall of CNN.
WHILE GUN CONTROL ADVOCATES are going to all lengths to stop the sale of AR15 and like long guns, especially to individuals who have not yet reached the age of 21, they are also continuing their push to stop the sale of large-capacity magazines that permit a shooter to fire longer burst before reloading. However, it was revealed that the Parkland shooter didn’t use magazines larger than 10 rounds. He threw down the weapon after it jammed and successfully blended into the crowd of students escaping the building.
AS A FOLLOW-ON TO AN EARLIER REPORT, exports of U.S. thermal coal used by utilities rose 117 percent last year. The stronger export market has at least added 1,200 jobs to a business that may never fully recover, however, there are some 83,000 coal miners working today. You will recall, I am sure, that former President Obama made expansion of the coal industry impossible, and Hillary Clinton vowed to follow his lead if elected.
The export opportunities are the result of a tightening of the global supply, attractive pricing in Western Europe and greater coal use in developing countries like India, where imports of our coal rose to 6.8 million metric tons over 2.4 million metric tons the previous year.
Mining companies in the Midwest – Illinois, Indiana and Western Kentucky – are benefiting from the ability to ship coal for export through the Gulf of Mexico. Interestingly, lawmakers and environmentalists are successfully blocking shipments out of the east coast and California.
