Those confusing liberals … work for welfare … the poor need not be … Civil Service slackers can now be fired … Trump stamina … ‘Gleeful Choir’ auditions continue … and viewers say ‘no’ to CNN, MSNBC

Here are my observations and opinions on stories in the news.

HARD TO FIGURE THOSE LIBERALS – They refuse to give President Trump credit for creating an environment for job creation with tax reform and fewer job-killing regulations. And they criticize him when he credits companies that support his America first policy.

In the Sunday edition of The Arizona Republic, left-leaning editorial columnist Elvia Diaz poured cold water on Amazon’s decision to locate a 1,500-employee facility in Tucson. Yes, the same Diaz who referred to the president as a white supremacist on Saturday.

“Sure we need jobs, and I suppose any kind is better than nothing,” she said, “But we shouldn’t be so quick to applaud a glorified warehouse where employees merely push boxes around and may soon be replaced with robots.”

You just can’t make this stuff up.  A $175 billion company in Fortune magazine’s top ten puts a facility in Arizona and the liberals choose to belittle the move.  Kinda like Nancy Pelosi referring to bonuses and tax cuts as “crumbs.”

Trump derangement syndrome amongst the media is at its worst. The Media Research Center reports that 94 percent of the coverage of the president is negative.

AN ASIDE: Currently there some 6 million job openings, the majority not requiring a college degree. Businesses are clearly buoyed by the economy. It’s unfortunate that those on welfare can’t generate the same excitement.

MEANWHILE, Democrats continue to oppose a requirement that able-bodied, working-age adults work at least part-time or participate in job training to receive food welfare, despite the fact that 82 percent of Americans support that requirement.

“Approximately one in seven Americans having no problem in the rest of us pay their grocery bills,” reports Joy Pullmann in The Federalist, with only 38 percent of recipients of food stamps currently working.

WELL, DUH! – “The main reason people are poor is because they aren’t working,” said Peter Ferrara, who authored an economic study by the Goodman Institute for Public Policy. The study revealed the shocking fact that essentially nobody in the United States will be poor if he or she merely works full-time at the minimum wage, even if that person has children.

THEN THERE ARE THOSE federal “workers” (slackers) who need to be fired. “Seizing on a longtime ambition of many Republicans, President Trump on Friday overhauled rules affecting at least two million federal “workers,” making it easier to fire them and rolling back the workplace role of their unions,” writes Noam Scheiber in the New York Times.

By signing a series of executive orders, President Trump fulfilled his promise to promote more efficient government by reforming Civil Service rules.

ANOTHER MANIPULATION OF THE VOCABULARY – Appearing on Fox News Sunday, liberal Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) shunned the use of “spy” during the discussion of FBI chicanery in the Trump campaign, choosing to use “human intelligence source” rather than “spy.”

You may be interested in reading, “The Human Intelligence Source Who Came In From the Cold,” a wonderful novel by John le Carre’.

PRESIDENT TRUMP’S STAMINA was on display during his appearance at the Naval Academy graduation ceremonies on Saturday as he stood in the hot sun and personally shook the hands of 1,042 graduates. WASHINGTON’S “GLEEFUL CHOIR” AUDITIONS continue as more mainstream media people vie for positions as they make no secret of the fact that they would rather see the peace process (North Korea, Iran, Israel-Palestinian) fail than see President Trump succeed.

“If you think that’s an exaggeration, just look at the Washington Post’s David Nakamura who, after the first rumors that Kim Jung Un might cancel the summit, could hardly contain his glee,” wrote Henry Jacobson in The Federalist, saying Trump’s diplomatic strategy was “Merely diplo-tainment, the inevitable path to major embarrassment for the president.”

The Post’s Paul Waldman sealed his audition in Pelosi’s choir by mocking President Trump for being “played” by North Korea and accused him for “impulsively” tanking the peace process.

ANTI-TRUMPERS AT CNN AND MSNBC are cooking their own goose as their constant attacks on President Trump by their anchors and guests have resulted in lousy viewership ratings. For example, last Thursday, just 898,000 watched Anderson Cooper on CNN, while 1.8 million people watched Chris Hayes on MSNBC, and 2.6 million people watched Tucker Carlson on Fox News Channel.

At 9 p.m. 2.8 million watched the goofy Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, while Sean Hannity attracted 3.6 million viewers on Fox. And at 10 p.m., Laura Ingraham had 2.7 million viewers compared to the 1.6 million who watched MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell and the 910,000 who watched Don Lemon on CNN.

God bless the United States of America
