More evidence of liberal hate … James over Stabenow … Balderson with razor-thin lead gets Trump endorsement in Ohio … and pollutants down

Here are my observations and opinions on selected news of the day.

LIBERAL HATE – Liberals have long had a dislike for conservatives, and as a conservative I have expressed my dislike for liberals; not personally but for their beliefs. However, liberals have turned that dislike into outright hate.

I have written here recently about the words expressed by CNN and MSNBC reporters and commentators, and Democrats like Maxine Waters and Kamala Harris.

We have come to expect the left-leaning New York Times to view President Trump and his policies with disdain, but with its naming of Sarah Jeong to its editorial board, an individual who not only has a hate for Republicans, but a deep hate for white people, they have doubled-down on hate. They view Jeong’s racist rants as “satire.”

“I think Jeong says exactly what liberals feel,” writes Ed Straker in American Thinker. “Liberals hate white people, even if they themselves are white (the self-loathing makes them feel virtuous, in a twisted way).

Here’s a taste of Jeong’s tweets:

“I open my mouth to politely greet a Republican, but nothing but an unending cascade of vomit flows from my face.”

“Dumb— f—ing white people marking up the Internet with their opinions like dogs p—ing on fire hydrants.”

Kurt Schlichter, who writes for Townhall, has frequently written on liberal hate. “Liberals hate you. You need to understand that. Accept the truth,” he wrote on June 26, 2018.

“Why Do Liberals Think We Are Morally Obligated To Die To Make Them Happy?” is his latest piece appearing in Townhall.

It’s important for you to recognize that the high-profile Democrats and their obliging media are responsible for generating the hate we are experiencing today. As supporters of the “Resistance,” their agenda comes directly from Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.

“Rule #13 – Pick your target … freeze it … personalize it … and polarize it.”

More hate is clear in this tweet by former President Obama’s 2008 campaign manager and current Democrat strategist David Plouffe in 2016:  “It is not enough to simply beat Trump.  He must be destroyed thoroughly.  His kind must not rise again.”

VOX OUT ON A LIMB – The left-leaning news website Vox explains “Why Michigan could see the biggest blue wave of all in the 2018 elections. While President Trump is not on the ballot, it is generally recognized that his coattails are key to other Republicans seeking election. While Michigan gave him a shocking win in 2016, Vox claims he is not so popular now, citing only a questionable Morning Consult poll.

I am particularly interested in John James’ challenge of Sen. Debbie Stabenow. Although Vox concedes that James is “one of the few black Republicans in big races this year, with a slight persistent lead, Stabenow should be fine.”

Stabenow hides her open borders position behind “responsible immigration” language, but gets low marks from anti-Immigration groups.

Considered to be weak on terrorism, Stabenow supported Obama’s deal with terrorist state of Iran, while opposing President Trump’s executive order to temporarily stop immigration from Muslim countries.

She gets low marks from advocates of low government spending, and National Right to Life, while getting high marks by Planned Parenthood.

Although Stabenow opposed regulation of greenhouse gases and greenhouse gas reporting standards and the enhanced fuel efficiency standards in California, she is of the belief that global warming is causing more tornadoes and hurricanes.

She opposed the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court because “in my judgement, he does not meet the standard of balance and impartiality.” She is obviously a believer in the “living” constitution.

With a record of 18 years of adhering to the terms of the Senate’s resistance leader, Sen. Chuck Schumer, it’s time for Michigan to think seriously about John James, a combat pilot, West Point graduate with business experience to replace her.

The only blue wave in Michigan will be in one of the Great Lakes.

IN THAT STATE KNOWN TO MICHIGANDERS as that state to the south (Ohio), President Trump has endorsed Troy Balderson, who John Fund of the National Review says has a “razor-thin lead” in the 12th District. The district leans Republican and has elected a Republican to the House every election since 1992.

I have to hand it to the president for his willingness to stake his and his party’s reputation by endorsing a candidate in a tight race.

While the Cook Political Report claims that GOP candidates are likely to pay a “Trump penalty,” defined as the price Trump and his party are paying for the president’s “modus operandi,” the president is actually gaining in popularity with his handling of the economy.

POLUTANTS DOWN – The latest report from the EPA reveals that from 1970 to 2017 the six major pollutants monitored by the EPA plunged by 73 percent.

The declines measured: Carbon monoxide, down 77 percent, Lead down 80 percent, Nitrogen oxide down 56 percent, Ozone, 22 percent, particle pollution off an average of 38 percent, and Sulfur dioxide down 88 percent.

Though not in the report, CO2 – the main greenhouse gas – overall has plunged 29 percent since peaking in 2007.

EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler attributes the success to technical advances by the public-private sector in a period the U.S economy grew 262 percent and its population by 60 percent.

May God bless the United States of America.
