Here are my observations and opinions of my selected news of the day.
SHAMEFUL SOCCER TEAM – I have never been a fan of soccer. I don’t even know the rules of the game, however, I watched with pride as our U.S. Women’s Soccer Team defeated Thailand, Sweden and Spain. But no more.
I was greatly disappointed to learn that one of the players (I won’t publish her name) refused to sing our National Anthem or place her hand over her heart. Another player supported her teammate saying, “I don’t support this administration nor their fight against LGBTQ+ citizens, immigrants our most vulnerable.”
President Trump, who is known for his love of the American flag, noted the individual’s disrespect of the U.S. in a tweet.
In May, she told Yahoo Sports, “I’ll probably never put my hand over my heart, and I’ll probably never sing the National Anthem again.” She told Eight by Eight, a soccer magazine, “I’m not going to the f**king White House.”
Had I known about these interviews before the World Cup, I wouldn’t have wasted my time watching the team, and I know of others who wouldn’t have watched either.
I wonder how many of those patriotic fans in the stands wearing red, white and blue apparel and waving American flags knew they were cheering for hypocrites, willing to gather in their adulation to pad their egos, but unwilling to be true patriotic Americans.
SPEAKING OF HYPROCRITES – Did you hear about the tweet Apology Joe Biden published after seeing the photo of the immigrant and his daughter face down in the river near Clint, Texas?
Biden wrote @JoeBiden: “History will judge how we respond to the Trump Administration’s treatment of immigrant families and children – we can’t be silent. This is not who we are. This is not America.”
While he would rather you not remember, Breitbart reminds us that 535 migrants died in Brooks County, Texas alone during the Obama-Biden administration. Bob Price detailed 20 incidents in “20 Times Breitbart Reported on Migrant Deaths During Obama-Biden Years and No One Cared,” in Breitbart, June 26, 2019.
“And no one cared.” Remember that when you hear those Democrat presidential candidates, who were part of the Obama-Biden administration, continue to place blame on President Trump.
I will be listening to hear if one of the MSNBC moderators will question Biden on those deaths during the debate.
ABOUT THOSE CHILDREN IN CAGES – If you don’t know who Thomas Homan is, you’re not watching Fox News Channel. He’s probably the most experienced person on the situation on the border.
Homan recently told Paul Bedard of the Washington Examiner about the days he supervised the building of those so-called “cages” while working in the Obama Administration under Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson. You may recall that it was Johnson who agreed that there was a crisis on the border.
Those of you who have been paying attention know that those “cages” are actually rooms in a large open facility divided by chain-link fencing. They were not initially built to care for children, but being used as a holding facility.
That hasn’t stopped the Democrat candidates and media from blaming Trump for the cages.
AND ABOUT THAT PHONY HUMANITARIAN Democrat Julian Castro, who accused the Trump administration of “playing games” on the border issue Wednesday night.
He challenged his rivals on the debate stage to decriminalize illegal immigration, of all things, saying that jumping the border shouldn’t be enough to earn someone jail time.
While the president has been, for months, making the case for the crisis on the border, Castro and his colleagues were spouting that it was a “fake crisis.”
When pressed, for an answer on the border crisis that resulted in the drowning death of the man and his daughter, there were no answers other than more nation-building in Central America.
There are answers to solve the asylum rush at the border, but the Democrat House isn’t about giving President Trump a win, even though it would be win for the country.
DID YOU NOTICE that Democrat Kamala Harris talked about the cruelty of sending immigrants back to where they came from? You might want to recall how President Obama addressed this topic in 2014. CLICK HERE to view a brief news clip.
May God bless the United States of America.
