Williamson a ‘nutcase?’ … witches for Williamson … racism left’s latest narrative … CNN’s Lemon ambushes black pastor … Gabbard’s al Qaeda charge … wages rise … and Soros’ 2020 PAC

Here are my observations and opinions on my selected news of the day.

MARIANNE WILLIAMSON (gettyimage)

STOPPED BY A HEADLINE – The New York Post headline over John Podhoretz’s column, “New Age Marianne Williamson is breakout winner of Democrat debate,” caught my eye. What did I miss? What did the media miss?

“Tuesday night in Detroit,” writes Podhoretz, “the veteran New Age motivational speaker Marianne Williamson hit it out of the park and brought the Democrat Party into the Nutcase Era.”

He goes on to explain. “The key problem afflicting America, in Williamson’s view, is a ‘dark psychic force’ that is weaving a racial divide. It is the cause of white nationalism. That racial divide is causing an ‘emotional imbalance’ that is interfering with human thriving. And that betrays the purposes of the founding fathers, who brought America into being to allow us all to have ‘possibilities.’”

Ohhhhhhhh … now I understand … not.

WITCHES FOR WILIAMSON – “To most Americans, Democrat presidential candidate Marianne Williamson sounds like some hippy dippy weirdo,” wrote Gabriel Hays in MRC’s NewsBuster, while referring to an occult task force that The Hill cites as growing to support Williamson.

“That sounds pretty hokey even for Williamson’s taste,” says Hays, who made it clear that Williamson has tweeted, “I am not a cult leader.”

THE EVER-CHANGING NARRATIVE – I have written about how Democrats and the media, suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, move from one narrative to another in search of “the” one that will help them finally help them defeat him in in 2020.

Even before Donald Trump was elected, there was a campaign to paint him negatively with voters. They thought it was working, and they weren’t to be deterred.

Despondent after his election, there was a move to delegitimatize him. He wasn’t “presidential.” And talk of impeachment began, while members of the Obama Deep State in the DOJ and FBI were already working to for colluding with the Russians.

Collusion became the word of the day, and Russia, Russia, Russia their cry.

When Robert Mueller’s report declared that neitherTrump, nor any member of his family or campaign, had not colluded with the Russians, the narrative changed to obstruction of justice.

While that is still the subject of House committees, they obviously see this charge weakening, too, so they have now moved to still another narrative – racist and white supremacist.

That could be an attempt to stop the movement of black voters to Trump.

CNN’s Don Lemon, who unashamedly referred to the president as a racist during the Detroit Democrat debate, has accused the president of “pursuing an election strategy based in part on racial division.” He referenced his “racist tweets’ attacking Baltimore and Congressman Cummings.

“Apparently, the black community wasn’t buying the narrative as support from black voters went up in Rasmussen’s Presidential Tracking Poll, according to Matt Margolis, in PJ Media.

Interestingly, while some in the media have stated that those who support Trump are racists, too, the poll also revealed that 59 percent of likely voters don’t consider supporters of Trump to be racist, but half of Democrats do. Just 41 percent of black voters believe that Trump voters are racist.

Insinuating that the president is a racist, Lemon asked candidate Amy Klobuchar, “What do you say to those Trump voters who prioritized the economy over the president’s bigotry? Yes, that was his question.

Klobuchar didn’t bite, saying, “There are people that voted for Donald Trump before that aren’t racist that just wanted a better shake in the economy would appeal to them,” adding, “I would appeal to them.”

One can imagine that Sanders, Warren, Harris, and Booker would not have been so restrained in their response.

LEMON USED THE RACIST THEME during his ambush interview with the Rev. Bill Owens, founder of the Coalition of African-American pastors, who with a group of 20 pastors, met with the president last week, according to Becket Adams of the Washington Examiner.

Over and over, Lemon tried to get Owens to denounce the president. “I know it’s hard for you, you think it’s hard to believe that Trump is racist. But he’s repeatedly used racially charged language. He consistently attacks black and brown elected leaders. So, why is that hard to believe? Pastor?

“He attacks who he will. He’s his own man. He doesn’t not just attack black people. He attacks anybody and you know it.”

Lemon wasn’t finished. “So, as a man of faith, as a Christian he attacks anyone. It sounds like you’re condoning attacks. Is that Christianly or Godly?”

“I’m not his judge,” Owens smartly responded.

REMEMBER CANDIDATE TULSI GABBARD’s remark that “the current president is continuing to betray us. We were supposed to be going after al Qaeda, but over years now, not only have we not gone after al Qaeda, our president is supporting al Qaeda.”

What an outrageous comment by someone who wants to president.  She knows better.

The news of the killing of Osama bin Laden’s son Hamza was breaking the evening of the debate, and surely Lemon, or one of the other CNN hacks, could have said, ‘Congresswoman Gabbard, we are just getting reports that Osama bin Laden’s son Hamza has been killed.”

It would have allowed her an opportunity to perhaps save face, but she had just delivered a slam at Trump too good to spoil.

WHILE DEMOCRAT DEBATERS CONTINUE to deny that American workers are doing better under the Trump administration, the Wall Street Journal reports that wages and salaries grew at an annual rate of 5.5 percent in June, demonstrating that Americans are earning more and relying less on government.

HAVE YOU HEARD that billionaire George Soros officially launched a new political action committee, Democracy PAC, to promote Democrat candidates in 2020?

He initially infused the PAC with a $5.1 million contribution. The 88-year-old financier spent some $20 million on Democrats down the ballots in 2016.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
