Hillary stupid? I’ll stick with liar and untrustworthy

I made fun of Hillary Clinton’s amateurish campaign logo in my June 20, 2015 post, “Hillary Clinton honest and trustworthy?” and predicted it would be used by creative cartoonists.

The accompanying cartoon with Hillary wearing a T-shirt was the creative work of one of my favorite editorial cartoonists, Michael Ramirez, whose work appears regularly in Investor’s Business Daily.… read more

“Mistake” and “sloppy” becomes “careless”

The liberal Democrat water carriers are at it again; this time to defend Hillary Clinton.

Remember back in 2004 when it was revealed that Sandy Berger, President Bill Clinton’s national security advisor, had stolen classified documents from the National Archives? It was called “a mistake” and “sloppy.”

Theft of Top Secret documents is a Federal crime that is supposed to carry extremely serious penalties, but the water carriers for the Clinton administration claimed “a mistake” in most instances is not a crime, and certainly being “sloppy” isn’t a crime.

Berger had stuffed documents critical of the Clinton administration’s approach to terrorism in his pants and socks and hid them under a construction trailer near the Archives, later to be retrieved. The theft was an attempt to keep the information from the 9/11 Commission and eventually the American public. He later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge and was fined just $50,000. Did Hillary Clinton’s naivete’ unintentionally tip off Benghazi attackers?

“I’m certainly aware of the classification requirements and did not send classified material.” – Hillary Clinton

If Hillary Clinton neither sent nor received classified information, just how did she carry out the normal day to day business of a secretary of state?

Even her daily itinerary should have been classified. Friendly and unfriendly countries alike want to know who she’s meeting with and where.… read more

Are Hillary’s followers about to call her bluff?

“Trusting someone to fight for them and trusting someone, these are two different things.” -CNN’s Briana Keilar

On Aug. 1, I wrote how I believed Hillary Clinton had reached the level of incompetence defined by Laurence J. Peter in his 1968 book, The Peter Principle.

I am beginning to see signs of her popularity shrinking, but I can’t see how she won’t be nominated to represent the Democrat party in 2016. But it’s not going to help her with Independents and Republican women.

CNN’s Briana Keilar asked Hillary about the trust issue during an otherwise session of softball questions. (ccnpressroom)

It began with the visible signs of arrogance. Her refusal to hold meetings with the press; only sitting for interviews with friendly members. Her continued insistence that she did no wrong by destroying e-mails, classified or otherwise. Her belief that she is listening to the voices of the middle class in those round table meetings with a handful of supporters. Her “entitled” projection as someone to whom rules of law and conduct don’t apply.

Her arrogance came through in the interview she did with CNN’s Briana Keilar on July 7, when, for the most part, she was fed softball questions. The atmosphere changed, however, when Keilar said, “We see by our recent poll that nearly six in 10 Americans say they don’t believe that you’re honest and trustworthy. Do you understand why they feel that way?” Continue reading

Obama getting a pass for actions similar to those that ended Nixon’s presidency

“The painful fact is that Barack Obama is the president that Nixon always wanted to be,” – Jonathan Turley, constitutional law expert

While perusing the daily newspaper this morning, my attention was drawn to the This Day in History column featuring President Richard Nixon’s Aug. 8, 1974 resignation.

Forty-one years ago, President Nixon resigned the presidency. (ahharsfnewws.com)

Over the years I have often considered Nixon’s transgressions to be foolish and clumsy to say the least, but it led to his impeachment and key members of his administration went to jail.

Hardly a day goes by, however, that I don’t see the actions of President Obama equally or more egregious than those of Nixon. But when you look back to the 1970s, reporters Woodward and Bernstein had the backing of their powerful newspaper, The Washington Post, to uncover the deeds of Nixon and his men.

You can ask, where the Woodward’s and Bernstein’s are today, but you soon come to your senses and realize that Nixon openly scorned the media and President Obama owns the media. Today, The Washington Post might tweak the Obama administration by giving the president or Hillary Clinton four Pinocchio’s. Continue reading

Hillary Clinton is the Peter Principle personified

In 1968, Dr. Laurence J. Peter caused a stir in the business world with the publication of his book, The Peter Principle, a treatise in which he explains how individuals reach their “level of incompetence.”

If ever there was someone who fits Peter’s definition, it’s Hillary Clinton.

Clinton joined the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock in 1977 after graduating from Wellesley College and Yale Law School.  Just two years later, she was coincidentally named the first female partner at the firm when she became the first lady of Arkansas. This, after never arguing a case in court for the firm.

She was first lady of the United States during Bill Clinton’s 1993-2001 tenure as president. In 1993, Bill asked her to lead a massive task force to draft a plan to develop a health insurance system to control costs while expanding coverage.

Documents have shown that her effort was seen as secretive, unworkable and behind schedule toward the end of the year. White House advisors were quoted as saying the bill was “not only confusing, but frightening.”   Another cited the Congress as being “petrified” by the issue.

By mid-1994 her healthcare overhaul plan had all but collapsed and died without a congressional vote. While her senior aides had advised her to consult closely with members of Congress, build bridges with business leaders, communicate clearly to nervous voters, and move swiftly, she failed. Obama cronyism again on display

Two years ago, Obama proudly appointed Katherine Archuleta to be his director of the Office of Personnel Management and Budget as the first Latina to hold that position. It was said that she shared his vision for diversity and inclusion in the federal workforce and will help “create more effective policymaking and better decision-making …”

In this June 16, 2015, photo, Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Katherine Archuleta testifies on Capitol Hill in Washington, before the before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on the OPM data breach. The Obama administration is increasingly confident that China’s government, not criminal hackers, was responsible for the extraordinary theft of personal information about as many as 14 million current and former federal employees and others, The Associated Press has learned. Obama crony appointee Katherine Archuleta resigned as director of the Office of Personnel Management and Budget after ignoring years of warnings by the IG. (washingtontimes.com)

Unfortunately, she didn’t have the expertise to run the 5,000-person department, even when OPM’s inspector general had issued warnings of outdated security policies and procedures in 2009, 2012 and again last year.

One day she had the president’s “full confidence.”  The next day, she resigned “of her own volition.” Continue reading

“No one believes a liar”

“You’re starting with so many assumptions that are … I’ve never had a subpoena.”

                              – Hillary Clinton to CNN’s Brianna Keller, July 7, 2015

. . . and so the lying and obfuscation by Hillary Clinton continues. Click here to hear it from the horse’s – AHEM – mouth.

No subpoena?  In March, the Select Committee on Benghazi issued subpoenas for all of Clinton’s communications related to Libya, and to other State Department individuals who have information pertinent to the investigation.

Lying and obfuscation come natural to Hillary Clinton. (cbsnews.com)

While Clinton chose to use her personal e-mail address on her personal server, she issued a 2011 diplomatic cable instructing employees to avoid using their personal e-mails for government business.  Rules are only for the “little people.”

Regarding her obligation to turn over all documents, keep in mind that she worked for us, and not only was it her duty to maintain proper record-keeping, in 2009 the National Archives cautioned all agencies and departments to be sure those using private e-mail accounts were preserved in the appropriate record-keeping system. We are NOT a war-weary nation, Part 2

In Part 1, I wrote of my concern over the constant drumbeat that Americans have become war-weary, a belief attributed to President Obama, his supporters, and an adoring media.

I believe Americans are Obama-weary.  They simply cannot support a commander-in-chief who is unwilling to use what is still the best fighting force on the planet. And it doesn’t help when his generals echo his belief.

When I hear the president say he’s not going to send our troops into harm’s way, I am reminded of a recent exchange between Fox’s Melissa Francis and a fellow panelist.  Francis had just made a strong position for U.S. involvement in Iraq when she was asked, “would you send your son or daughter?”  Embarrassingly, she said, “no,” and was not pleased with herself.

There was no reason for her to be embarrassed.  We have an all-volunteer military, a courageous group of warriors, men and women, who sign up knowing that they are signing up for war. Continue reading

A letter writer not among the war-weary

In a letter to the editor of The Arizona Republic, an individual writes, “We are being told that we will not put boots on the ground in the Middle East to defeat ISIS and stop the daily slaughter of innocents because the majority of Americans are opposed to it.”  He adds, “if that’s how decisions are made in Washington these days, then why do we still have ObamaCare?,”… read more
