“What’s a ‘loyalist?’ How many presidents nominate ‘disloyalists’ to fill senior positions?”
As a political blogger, I read news and commentary from a number of sources most likely unfamiliar to you, as are the writers, I imagine. I get a great deal of satisfaction out of excerpting quotes that help me in conveying my thoughts to you.… read more

Watching the likes of former FBI Director Andrew McCabe and others on the left, squirm over President Elect Trump’s selection of Kash Patel to serve as FBI director is so satisfying.
Six months ago, I recall McCabe’s concern over the possibility of Trump winning. Appearing on CNN, where he is laughingly a senior law enforcement analyst, he was asked if he worried about what Trump might do, he said he worried that Trump would have him and other agents “thrown in jail.”… read more

My December Fool’s Day honor goes to the bevy of blue state governors and mayors and sanctuary city protectors who have banded together to oppose President Elect Trump’s pledge to mass deport illegal migrants.
With Trump’s pledge to close the border on Day One, his first nomination, stands to reason, was Tom Homan, who returns as the border czar.… read more

From Out on My Limb
In my November 8, 2024, edition, I suggested that Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg (Ret.) would be an excellent choice to serve as President Trump’s national security advisor.
While the president elect named Florida Rep, Mike Waltz to that position, he has named Kellogg to be his Envoy to Russia and the Ukraine and could play a crucial role in Trump’s plan to broker an end to the war that began there three years ago.… read more

Regular readers will recall my disgust, as a veteran, with the lack of leadership in the Pentagon, so you won’t be surprised with my criticism of those who disapprove of the nomination of Pete Hegseth as secretary of defense.
The latest is Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan, who is making the rounds, promoting her new book, A Certain Idea of America.… read more

As an optimist, I was delighted to read about the latest CBS/YouGov Poll showing that Americans are optimistic about Trump 2.0.
How could anyone not be optimistic, I thought, our president elect scored a victory in the electoral college and by popular vote. … read more

Didn’t See This Coming
While watching Fox News, a clip from MSNBC appeared showing a black individual who I didn’t recognize commenting on Pam Bondi as President Elect Trump’s nominee for attorney general.
Prepared for the worst, I heard him say, “Pam Bondi is exactly what we should fear,” and as I shouted ‘FEAR!’… read more

“Donald Trump’s decisive win was a stark rebuke not just to Democrats, but to Never Trump Republicans, a movement that I joined when it began in 2016 before Trump won the GOP nomination.” – Ashley Pratte Oates, U.S. News contributor
In my November 18, 2024 blog, I made note of how the biased campaign coverage led to the leftist media losing viewers and readers, and I answered my own question – would that be a wake-up call for them – Nah.… read more

On October 15, 2018, I referred to Elvia Diaz, an editorial staff member of the left-leaning Arizona Republic, as “an embarrassment,“ citing her editorial in which she wrote, “incivility has its place in these divisive times of ours.”
She sided with Hillary Clinton, reasoning that Democrats needed to wage war on Trump’s Republican Party “that’s ripping the nation to pieces.”… read more

Trump vs. Media
While the headline in the Wall Street Journal reads, “Trump vs. Media Returns to White House,” the leftist media are beginning to wonder if their fight against Trump is worthwhile.
Between 8 and 11 p.m. on Election Night, Fox News Channel had 10.3 million viewers, followed by MSNBC with six million, ABC with 5.7 million, NBC with 5.5 million, CNN with 5.1 million and CBS with 3.6 million.… read more
