“We had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or because of guys out for a walk one night who decide to kill some Americans. What difference at this point does it make?” – Hillary Clinton, Jan. 23. 2013
What difference at this point does it matter, Hillary? You have to be proven accountable for the loss of four American’s lives. You have to explain why you were so callus about security at Benghazi. You have to explain why you didn’t send in the military units that were ready to go. And you have to apologize to the families of those killed for lying to them while they grieved over their losses. And, finally, you have to admit that the attack had nothing to do with a video and explain your role in concocting that myth for public consumption.
I saw the movie, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, and now, more than ever, I am convinced that Hillary Clinton is guilty of dereliction of duty.
Not only did she fail to heed five months of security warnings prior to the attack, during which time she reduced security levels, she failed to authorize help during the attack.
“The attacks in Benghazi were security-related, resulting in the deaths of four U.S. personnel after terrorists attacked to separate U.S. government facilities. Systematic failures of leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels within two bureaus of the State Department resulted in a Special Mission security posture that was inadequate for Benghazi and grossly inadequate to deal with the attack that took place,” according to the Accountability Review Board.
A review of Clinton’s e-mails revealed that her deputy chief of staff and undersecretary for political affairs were told in a DOD e-mail that forces that could move to Benghazi had been identified, and were “spinning up as we speak” as they awaited State’s approval to go. Help was never sent.
Hillary Clinton, who often says that she’s the person you want in the White Office when that 3 a.m. call comes in. Yet she wasn’t able to respond to this attack that began at about 4 p.m. Washington time. A disinterested President Obama went to a Las Vegas fundraiser the next morning, and we know that Clinton failed to attend the Daily Presidential Briefing on Saturday following the attack, because she slept-in.
Neither Hillary Clinton or President Obama are mentioned in the movie, but if you don’t leave the theater with a clear understanding how they failed Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, you live in another world.
