Trump is correct to propose temporary ban of Muslim entries to U.S.

Donald Trump is being criticized for his proposed temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S., while Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, wants to increase the number of refugees we accept.

We can no longer ignore what’s going on in our own communities – San Bernardino, Orlando and Dallas – and around the world – Paris, Brussels, Turkey, and most recently Nice?

If you missed it, “The influx of Syrians to the U.S. has accelerated in recent months,” according to The Wall Street Journal, “and annual arrivals are likely to reach 10,000 by the end of September,” fulfilling the promise of President Obama.

Our government has placed Syrian refugees in nearly every state without notifying the governors. More than 500 have been settled in Michigan, Arizona, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina and Florida.

Trump has rightly voiced concern over the inadequate vetting of the refugees, while the Obama administration and Clinton tout the fact that admission to the U.S is a comprehensive, robust two-year screening process.

Can you imagine the availability of birth, marriage, and criminal records in war torn Syria? The State Department says several interviews of family members, together and apart, are conducted as if they aren’t going to have their stories rehearsed. The vetting process includes fingerprinting and iris scans. That will be helpful if they are caught or killed in a terrorist plot.

In an earlier post I wrote of the thousands of individuals from Middle East countries who over stay their U.S. visas and the disgrace that our government has no idea where they are today.

Providing a path for Syrians to settle in our country under current world terrorist conditions is ludicrous.

We need a complete overhaul of our immigration process and all of the agencies involved, beginning with the State Department, where it all begins at embassies around the world.

Another reason why we cannot allow Hillary Clinton to become president:

“I think the idea of building walls as an answer to issues that confront our country is just not the right approach. We should be building bridges, bridges to understanding. People who are with me want immigration reform … which includes a path to citizenship.” – Hillary Clinton, June 2, 2016
