During the presidential campaign, and before, I have provided you with information concerning corruption in the Obama administration, and as Election Day nears, there’s more, proving the Washington DC swamp needs to be drained.
In another post today, I touched on the discovery of 2015 private e-mails between Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik and Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta in which he alerted Podesta to DOJ inside information on investigations.
Kadzik could be the poster boy for Donald Trump’s drain the swamp campaign. Here are the highlights of the Kadzik connection and DOJ effort to get Clinton elected, from “Clinton’s Justice Department,” a column by Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberly A. Strassel.
Prior to joining the DOJ in 2013, Kadzik spent 30 years with a Washington law firm that engaged in Clinton causes. His wife, Amy Weiss was Bill Clinton’s deputy press secretary and a communications director at the DNC. Both have been Clinton donors over the years.
Kadzik is an old Georgetown Law School buddy of Podesta. E-mail addresses revealed that a number of other Clinton supporters are friends – Doug Band of the Clinton Foundation and Teneo; Neera Tanden, of Soro’s Center for American Progress ; Betty Currie, Bill Clinton’s former personal secretary; Madeleine Albright, former secretary of state; and Carol Browner, former EPA head and climate czar.
“What the email reveals is the mind-set of the senior officials at the Justice Department. They are in it to win if for Hillary,” wrote Strassel, “They have taken a cue from their boss, the president, who has felt free to personally absolve Mrs. Clinton, no matter how inappropriate that is.”
Leslie Caldwell, head of the Criminal Division, an anti-business activist, and Benjamin Mizer, who leads the Civil Division, who supported Hillary in Freedom of Information Act litigation over her e-mails, are two of those senior officials.
Remember those immunity deals given Hillary aides Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson? They were provided by the DOJ.
Of course, I have referred to the apparent complicity of Attorney General Loretta Lynch in previous posts.
A Washington Beacon report in May found that 228 DOJ employees have donated some $75,000 to Hillary’s campaign and just $381 to Trump’s campaign.
Trump has announced support for term limits for Congress and prohibitions on former members lobbying the federal government, but the incestuous situation in the DOJ revealed above is a drop in the bucket of the “swamp” that needs to be drained.
Is it any wonder that “government corruption” was the number one fear of 60.6 per cent of Americans in a recent survey?
“If this feels sordid now,” says Strassel,“ just wait for the actual Clinton Justice Department.” See her complete column in the Nov. 4, 2016 Wall Street Journal.
