Sen. Coons caught in a lie, public weary over Trump bashing by media, and there’s hope for your college graduate

Here are few news briefs I thought would be of interest to you.

A TYPICAL TACTIC – Say something outrageous or untrue and apologize or walk-back your comment a day after it has been broadcast on news broadcasts and in other forms of media, after millions of people have heard your original remark. As you know, fewer people by far ever hear or read corrections.

Senator Coons floats a lie, then apologizes. (fox.com)

That scenario changed somewhat on Fox News Sunday when Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) was caught in a lie by host Chris Wallace. Appearing March 2, 2017 on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell, Coons said, “There are transcripts that provide very helpful, very critical insight into whether or not Russian intelligence and senior Russian political leaders, including Vladimir Putin, um, were cooperating, were colluding with the Trump campaign at the highest levels to influence our election.” Not only did this go over the air to Mitchell’s viewers, she repeated the charge by Twitter.

Wallace rightly pressed Coons on his comment, saying there’s “more than a whiff of McCarthyism for you as a U.S. senator to say there are transcripts out there that provide insight into whether or not there was collusion, but you don’t even know whether they exist.”

Weakly, Coons responded, “to the extent those comments, they might be some way misinterpreted as heading to sort of a hyperventilating attitude here in the senate about this, I apologize for that. That’s not what I was trying to do. I am confident that intelligence exists that is relevant to this question. Not that says (sic) there is collusion, and proof of it, that not what I was trying to say.”

Oh, really, senator. You might like to read your initial statement again. I rest assured, however, that millions more viewers saw you caught on Fox than during your MSNBC appearance.

THE LATEST IBD/TIPP poll found that 55 percent of the public says they’ve grown “weary from the media’s persistently negative coverage of President Trump,” and 54 percent believe that the news media “has assumed the role of the opposition party, constantly opposing the president and his policies at every turn.”

IF YOU’RE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR CHILD getting brainwashed by those liberal college professors, I read an interesting theory that there may be hope that it can be reversed. Many are graduating without a job prospect, and are winding up back home living with their parents while they job search or take a demeaning job. It gives parents an opportunity to “rescue” their child from liberalism or socialism.
