Here are my observations on items in the news.
MEMORIES OF PEARL HARBOR – No, I don’t have personal memories of Pearl Harbor; I was just over two years of age on December 7, 1941 when the Japanese attacked our naval fleet and aircraft in Hawaii. What I vividly remember was a 78 RPM recording of then President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s well-known “infamy speech” delivered to a joint session of Congress on December 8, 1941. My father was very fond of FDR, and cherished the recording, from which he would frequently quote.
NO SURPRISES SURFACED in FBI Director Christopher Wray’s Thursday testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. Republican members made sure that he was aware of their disappointment in the FBI’s stonewalling responses to their requests for documents. While Wray was unable to answer questions that touched on the purview of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Republican members clearly stated their case against FBI agent and Obama Deep-Stater Peter Strzok, who actively participated in the Hillary Clinton e-mail investigation while having a record of supporting her campaign for the presidency.
WRAY DID AGREE that Strzok’s changing of the wording on Clinton’s mishandling of classified e-mails from “gross negligence“ to “extreme carelessness” didn’t change the charge. We now know that Strzok was former FBI Director James Comey’s “partner in crime.”
MEANWHILE, we learned on Wednesday that Strzok sent 10,000+ text messages, some of an anti-Trump, pro-Clinton nature, to his colleague Lisa Page, with whom he was romantically linked. The FBI says it will take months to review these texts to “weed out” unrelated material. Many people, including myself, ask how he could devote so much time to writing texting?
ANOTHER OBAMA DEEP-STATER – Andrew Weissmann, lead prosecutor for Special Counsel Robert Mueller, described in an October New York Times article as Mueller’s “Pit Bull” revealed his true colors in an e-mail obtained by Judicial Watch.
After Acting Attorney General Sally Yates – another Obama holdover – ordered the Department of Justice not to defend President Trump’s January 27, 2017 travel ban executive order, Weissman wrote to her saying, “I am so proud. And in awe. Thank you so much. All my deepest respect.” At the time, he was chief of the Justice Department’s Criminal Fraud Section. You will recall, of course, that the President fired Yates the same day.
Judicial Watch also uncovered similar notes of congratulations to Yates from U.S. attorneys in Maine, Michigan and New Hampshire and other Obama holdovers in the Justice Department. Liz Aloi, a career service employee and chief of the justice Department’s Special Financial Investigations Unit, told Yates she was “inspirational and heroic.” Surely, the Trump administration has asked her to consider resignation.
It is believed that Weissmann oversaw the pre-dawn raid of Paul Manafort’s home in what one former federal prosecutor described as “textbook Weissmann terrorism.”
Mueller should remove Weissmann from his team as he did Strzok.
RECOMMENDED READING – If you would like to read a concise report on what has happened to the once vaunted FBI, I highly recommend you read the insightful piece by Bill Gertz in the Washington Free Beacon.
“People are finally tumbling to the realization that this (FBI) has become a proto-KGB,” a former senior intelligence official told Gertz, “These guys are playing out a silent coup against an elected official (Trump).”
Gertz reports that they are going to punish Trump for his criticism of the FBI … “make Trump pay for having dissed the bureau.” Under the 12-year reign of Mueller and Comey, “the FBI seems to regard itself as a power center answerable to no one,” Gertz states.

ON THOSE NATIONAL MONUMENTS IN UTAH – The Wall Street Journal responsibly reported President Trump’s order to reduce the size of Bears Ears and the Grand Staircase-Escalante monuments “not only ends federal overreach but restores power to local people.” The move reverses the “Washington land grab” of Presidents Clinton and Obama and returns use of a large percentage of the land to the public.
INSULTS FROM THE LEFT – Chances are you’ve never heard of left-wing comedian Chelsea Handler, but you will be happy to know that her show on an obscure cable channel was recently cancelled due to unfavorable ratings. She called HUD Secretary Ben Carson and actress Stacey Dash “black white supremacists.” She mocked First Lady Melania Trump for her grasp of the English language. Most recently she referred to Press Secretary Sarah Sanders as a “harlot,” “trollop,” and a “whore.”
“This is what the Left has been reduced to,” Tweeted Beardog (MAGA), “The Left is now attacking the physical attributes of conservative women. It used to make me angry, but now it doesn’t because I know we’re WINNING.”
I’m happy to report that Handler will continue to allow voters to focus on the Democrat agenda as she has announced that she “would seek to further involve herself in political activism.”
